Is there any company that does NOT retire its colors?
I am looking for a company that is consistent, one that will have inks and matching cardstock in the same reds (blues, greens, browns, etc) tomorrow that it has today and had yesterday.
It's impossible to say any company will never retire any colors, but GinaK, Memento and Tim Holtz Distress inks have been consistent for at least the past eight years. They don't seem to make a practice of shaking things up like SU, but that doesn't mean if a color goes stale and stops selling they won't abandon it.
oops! forgot to say that of the 3, GinaK also has matching cardstock and I have been buying the same colors from her for years. Also love the quality of her cardstock the best!

Thanks. I have three or four Amuse ink pads that I like. Haven't tried the cardstock, but maybe I should give it a try.
I've been away from papercrafting for awhile. Back then, I did more scrapbooking than cards, so Close to My Heart was a good fit -- until they started selling their paper in only multi-color packs. Now that I'm back, I see the company has reverted back to the single color paper packs (yeah) but they also discontinued the reinkers for all but three of my ink pads (boo, hiss).
Tick me off once, I grumble. But tick me off twice and I'm looking for greener pastures.
I do have a few colors of Gina K cardstock that are retired. But none of the colors that have matching ink have retired so far.
My Favorite Things has also had some of their colors for a long time, and they just recently added a bunch of new colors. They have matching paper and ink as well. Some of their colors are even exactly the same as Gina K's, just with different names, which has been nice for me because they are the two companies I order from the most.

I think life could be easier if I only made cards and did not scrapbook as well.
It seems the companies who don't change their colors do not sell 12"x12" cardstock.
Maybe I shouldn't bother with matching ink and cardstock. I'd probably save myself money and headaches if I just go with a few basic ink colors: black, brown & white and save the color for cardstock and Copics. Or just buy whatever colors are available in the mini pads at Michaels and JoAnn's.
I found that scrapping and card making became a lot less anxiety inducing once I stopped worrying about matching inks and cardstock so much. I still collect matching inks and cardstock when able. In fact, I just started collecting Simon Says Stamp inks and papers. But, now I concentrate more on colors that coordinate well and blend nicely together rather than worrying about the colors being the same. Now, if I find an ink or paper color I love, I buy it. I don't worry about whether it has a coordinating ink. It helps that I've accumulated enough variety of inks over the years that I usually can find a color that will look good with whatever paper I may have.
Doodlebug Design hasn't changed their color paleete since they started their business. I think they still make their coordinating solid cardstock in 12 x 12 size. They are one of my favorite companies because, when I buy their products, I know that everything will coordinate with what I already have.
They are, however, on the fourth forumlation of inks and inkpads. Someone hoping for continuity over all that time would be disappointed.
Just for clarity - the new PTI ink pads are the same formula of ink, just a differently shaped pad. The manufacturer was going to increase the cost of the comma shaped pads pretty dramatically, so they chose to go back to a more classic oval shape to keep the price the same.
