Default Target has mailboxes in

They are super cute this year. I saw the traditional red and white varieties. But this year they also had a neat matte silver and matte but shiny pink! I got 12 for my 4th grader's classmates Valentines' gifts.

I am so jealous!! The closest target to me is about a half hour away :( I need to get my hands on a couple of those silver ones!

My Target had a ton! I didn't need them, but a friend said she wanted all that she could get her hands on, so I bought almost all of them for her (46) They almost didn't fit into the car with all the other stuff that I bought today! Yikes!

Cute! I picked some up last year and STILL have them in my stash unused. Time to get those out!

Thanks for letting us know! I decorated all of my stash last year (18 of them), so I need to restock to have a few more to dress up, they were so much fun!

Can you post a picture for those of us who are not familiar with these "mailboxes?" I'm just curious as to what they look like. TIA

I went to my local Target (1/2 hour away) a couple of days ago and got the only pink one I could find and some red ones and some white ones...

There weren't that many left after I went through and got mine, and I only got about 12.

I did a bunch two years ago so I'll be passing on them this year, in fact I had to travel down to a target 30 minutes away back then to get enough for my Feb megga stamp camp ((I needed 40)).

I think it's so funny that they keep getting these every year! It just makes me wonder if all these SCSers have impacted on Target's purchasing policy. In other words, I wonder if these were ordered for the dollar spot again for the third year because WE bought so darn many to alter! HA! SCS POWER!

I wasn't planning a trip to Target but since it's just right across the street, I may swing by and scoop some up.

I'm very, very new to altering items (and stamping for that matter) so I'm excited to try these. My DD has too many kids in her class (26) for me to make one for each of them but her school is small (6 teachers, 2 assistants & 2 admin staff) so I'd like to buy enough for my DD & the staff at her school.

Thanks for the tip!!

I saw them today but didn't buy any--I thought the pink ones were kinda ugly, and I had several left from last year anyway.
I wonder if Target would carry them year-round.....
And by the way, Christmas dollar spot stuff is 75% off!!! (Black dot on the back.)

I picked up the pink for myself... the red is for sports themed ones and the white I thought gave a neutral background - I didn't feel as confident with the silver because of the white flags

I'm sure that my SuperTarget will have them so if anyone wants some, send me a PM and I'll be happy to grab them for you and ship. (you can safely send 6-7 in a Priority flat rate box).

I went to three Targets today and ALL were sold out! At one store, they told me that one lady bought all in that store. I just know it's a fellow stamper driving around all Broward County Targets scooping up all these darn mailboxes!

On a brighter note, I did pick up some pink, red and white tin pails from the $1 spot that were from Christmas (although they didn't have any holiday decoration) for .25 cents. That was a score, at least! lol

I still have TONS from years past. I keep saying that I am going to do several and I never do. I have white ones. If anyone absolutely needs some, let me know. I don't know if it will be worth the shipping in addition to the cost of the mb's unless you are "dying" for them.

mama2oliviamae - you need to go further north. I found some in Deerfield Beach and in Boynton Beach, where I live. Would you like me to get some for you?

Mine didn't have any, but I'm hoping they will soon. They still had Christmas stuff in the $ spot and in the holiday section. Not even any Valentine candy yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the mailboxes aren't in yet, either.

Thanks for the tip! I rushed out of the house and drove to a Target 30 miniutes away and another 45 minutes away and they were both sold out. Tommorrow I'll drive another 45 miniutes to another town and try there. I couldn't get any last year either! Later this year, my city will be getting its first Target and I can't wait! Maybe next year I will be able to score some mailboxes!

My Target only had the metallic pink, but at least they had some in stock.

For anyone looking for a tutorial on how to alter these mailboxes, Emily Giovanni has one on her blog: http://emilygiovanni.com/?p=1520

I picked up 6 on New Year's Day. I think they just put them out. I really like the plain silver ones. I got Silver, white and Red this time - no pink. I've already made Valentine mailboxes for my nieces and nephews before so I don't want to duplicate but I'm going to make one for my daughter this year and the others I'm going to make mailboxes for Santa letters decorated for Christmas. They also had some really cute metal buckets and boxes decorated with valentine themes. I couldn't resist and picked up several of those too.
