Exclamation TARGET ALERT...

Was in Target today & decided to check out the $$ section... Great finds!! Tubes of mini glass beads & rondelles in the big 4" tubes (limited variety of colors), wire, hemp cord (8 yds.), plastic beads, cute zipper pulls. But the best of all - pkgs of copper tags w/wire! Called Copper Plant Tags -very light weight - rectangular (3/4" x 4") 4/pkg & t-labels (about 2"x1" with a little pointy part on the bottom) 3/pkg. Even has a wooden 'pencil' in each package for writing on the copper tag. Would be very very easy to emboss & wouldn't add a lot of bulk to a card or scrapbook page. I picked up several of each & may go back for more - just so I have them.

Santakitty,

You are soooo lucky! Our Target doesn't have any cardmaking-scrapbooking stuff! Might be because a brand new Michael's is right next door. I really do miss the bargains everyone talks about.

Lucky you! We don't have Target up here, so I always make a point of going there when we do a shopping trip to Buffalo.

We have a target and while the deals are fine and I have bought things there, I would trade Hawaii for Target any day!

In my Target Dollar spot the beads, etc have been replaced with all sorts of wedding and garden stuff. I managed to pick up 6 of the 10x7 albums that I saw decorated in the gallery (when we had one). They were reduced from $1 to 25 cents! Have had people on the hunt for them and can find no more - anyone out there still see them?

I bought some of the copper tags there, I thought I would do some dry embossing on them with the pencil, but the pencil doesn't really work on them, maybe an actual dry emboss tool or something. I'll have to go back and check cuz I didn't see the beads and some of the other stuff. Thanks for the heads up.

I found those cool things too! I also found these:

*Pretty chop sticks, to make books/albums with.(binding kind of like this: Example)
*Pink and blue poker chips with a martini glasses on them, great for those retro deco style martini cards.
*Bamboo coastaers, for oriental cards.
*Silver "Thank You" charms, in the little wedding section they had.

I saw the hemp and beads at ours too in the $1 section, marked as jewelry making supplies but you can use them in so many ways.

Mary Kay, our Target has scrapbooking supplies and the $1 section and they are in the same mall as a Hobby Lobby and just 3 blocks from a Michaels and a LSS. Maybe your store is just behind in setting these sections up, or too small to accommodate them. Hope you can get them soon though

I couldn't get the wooden pencil to work on them either, so I just broke out the StazOn and stamped on a couple of them . A smaller-tipped stylus would probably work better, too. I have some metal stamps (the type that you tap with a hammer to emboss on metal) that I intend to use later once everyone is awake. They were under $10 a set at Harbor Freight Tools.

My Target also has some snap together boxes for putting stuff in. They are square shaped and very cute! They sell for about $6-$7 at Archivers! They have them in several colors. I picked up some of the beads, the flip flop paper holders but I didn't see those copper tags! I might have to check those out!

I have the SU! ones and a pink one I bought before SU! started selling them. I bought one of the $1 Target ones for my niece a few weeks ago and it works just as good! SHe likes to use the chunky glitter when she is at my house. She does not get the nice SU! DD glitter!

Mary Kay, just keep checking your Target store. I've often found stuff there 2 weeks after I've seen people post about them! I think they're just not all on the same schedule when it comes to their dollar sections.

My big pout is that our Target has NEVER had a sale on their $1 stuff...

In my Target the other day I got

The silver Thank You charms (wedding stuff)
Small Buckets - turquoise and yellow (garden stuff)
Chrome baskets - look like shopping baskets with two handles
Mini clutch purses - I'm going to try and cover with polymer clay
I can't remember what all else, the dollar section can really get expensive after you've been in it for over 10 minutes, lol!
