Default SU Big Shot dies & Cuttlebug *merged*

Don't know if this is where to ask a question or not. Just wondering of those who have some of the Big SHot dies from SU, do any fit in the Cuttlebug? I want to get a few to use for now and when I make a little more money from my classes I will purchase SU Big Shot. Thanks for any info.

Some of the big shot dies were made specifically not to fit in the cuttlebug, but I did buy the small snowflake set of 4 dies and they work great in my cuttlebug. I even die cut fun foam with them.

They all fit in the cuttlebug. I've been using them all for months now.. Bigz, Bigz XL, etc. etc. They are smaller in size than the actual measurements that Sizzix gives... just the right size to fit through the cuttlebug!

I did a mini-tutorial on my blog a couple of months ago... http://amysinkyfingers.blogspot.com/...cuttlebug

I used the Top Note Bigz die in a friend's Cuttlebug this weekend. It worked just fine!

Default SU! Die Cuts

I'm thinking about asking for a cuttlebug for Christmas (not the big shot because it's cheaper and space saving). My question is, what dies can you use with the CB? Can you use ALL of the SU! dies with it? I know nothing about die cutting!!! Thanks!

Im not a die cutting expert yet, but Im learning!! I have the cuttlebug (and love it) I have used the sizzix original dies and just got one of the bigz dies I know there is a world of info here on scs about this but yes you can use the su dies you just have to use the right "sandwich" that is the term for layering your cutting materials. Check out the cuttlebug information threads it will help you a lot!!
Have fun with your new toy!!

I have used both the Bigz and the XLBigz dies and they do fit in the Cuttlebug. The only Big Shot items that don't fit are the cutting plates. I just use extra Cuttlebug B plates instead. A teeny bit more awkward than using the Big Shot, but easily doable.

I have a Cuttlebug and have used a couple of other brands of dies in it. You just change the thickness of the plates that go through the Cuttlebug.

For more info, there is an entire thread here in Tool and Product Talk dedicated to Cuttlebug FAQ. You can find the info there on "sandwiches" that you use with different dies. It's at the top of the first page.
