Default Stuck Punch

How do you unstick a punch? I punched out a circle out of paper and the metal part won't come back up. Does anyone know how to fix this? :(

Tap it with a butter knife handle into the metal part. It should push it back out. My students are always sticking the punches by punching fabric and other misc stuff.

If banging it on a hard surface will not help...try putting it in the freezer, sometimes this helps the two metal surfaces to release from each other...then bang it again...banging usually works on mine...

Thanks - the tapping with the butter knife worked.

I've never had a stuck punch before...but I have heard that if you punch wax paper a few times, it is supposed to help your punch work more smoothly...maybe this will help prevent future stickings??:?

I love the amazing things that can be done with paper. Now if I just had more time...
