I think the kind/brand of ink depends on a lot of things.
Stazon is a permanent ink, and is usually used for things like plastic, tile, glass, etc. that you want to be waterproof. Since it is permanent, if you are picky about your stamps being stained, you might have to use a special cleaner to get it off when you're done.
The appearance of my stamps doesn't bother me, if they stamp well that's all I care about.
I just used Stazon to stamp on some ceramic tiles that need to resist moisture. I used clear acrylic stamps with it and got a good result.
I have tried Momento and wasn't that impressed for regular stamping on paper. But a lot of people swear by that brand.
For all purpose stamping on cardstock, I don't think you can beat Versafine Onyx pigment ink. It does a great job with detailed images, and is good with rubber or clear acrylic stamps.
It is my everyday "go to" ink for most of my cardmaking.
I tend to use images that need to be colored, so don't get into the colored inks for stamping very often.

I love stazon ink...I am a SU demo and I dont even like our black ink. I use the stazon for everything. when I use my pencils and gamsol or markers, the ink wont bleed, and it can be used on acetate, tile, plastic etc so why have more than 1 ink.
I think its worth the money.
For me, it depends on what I want to use it for and what I'm stamping on. My two go-tos are Stazon and Memento. If I want to use Copics, I use only Memento. If I want to watercolor, I'll use either (whichever I can find faster). If I want to stamp on a tile, I'll use Stazon. I'm a big fan of Stazon and have used it for years. It's really a nice and fairly versatile ink.

I rarely use StazOn but when you need it, you need it. I used it yesterday for some images that I knew I wanted to Stickle over quite heavily. I've had other inks bleed when I've done that but the StazOn held perfectly.
But you can't use StazOn with Copics. They are both solvent-based and it will bleed like crazy and ruin your marker tips to boot. Momento inks give me the best, most consistent results when I used them with Copics.
