Question Staples Cardstock??

Has anybody used the cardstock from Staples? How does it compare to Georgia Pacific at Walmart?? I know that Staples will cut the paper into strips ready for cardmaking. That would be great having the paper cut before I need it and just pulling it out of the box ready to go. Just wondering about the quality of the paper. I think its 80 weight.

I use the "Domtar" paper from Staples, as we dont have any GP at our Walmart where I live in Canada. I like the Domtar from Staples ... I use it all the time.

Office Max will cut the GP from Wal-Mart for you too! It cost me $1.50 for the whole slab to be cut at once. And they measured it right too!!!!!!

Do you guys have them cut it for you in the store?? I have joined lots of image swaps and it would be great to have them cut each sheet into 4 pieces. Or longwise to use for a card. As long as the quality is good and the price is right I think I might try it. thanks for your imput!!

I buy Staples 110 lb and get it cut at a printing co. I'm not sure if Staples cuts in Canada.

I work at a Staples in Canada - I can only speak for my store but the gals at the Copy Centre will cut your paper for you, even if you didn't buy it there, however they may charge a bit more.

I bought cs from Staples a few years ago and the weight felt great but, when placed next to SU! white, it looked like it had a slight pink tinge. OK for the scout thing I needed it for but I like BRIGHT white.

I had to buy some staples cs in a pinch due to my SU order did not come in and I had to get the party favors done that day.. I had no complaints and will use it again..

I did not know that they cut it. I will have to check into that and use that to my advantage!!

Ladies....Any office supply store will cut paper to a size you specify, no matter where you purchased the paper. There is usually a nominal fee for this service. Just be sure you are clear as to exactly what size you want. Also, have the receipt with you if purchased in another store. That way, if they cut it incorrectly or something happens when they do cut it, you can get them to reimburse you for the cost of the paper. Or they should just give you the same amount of comparable paper.

I also use the Staples #110 cardstsock. I buy both the white and ivory and like them both. Use this cardstockl for bases and also use it for Copic and gamsol coloring. I bought the GP from WalMart and didn't like the slight gray tinge. I placed it next to the Staples cardstock and in natural light to compare.

I was in need of white cardstock for card bases so after reading this thread, I went to Staples last night and purchased a 250 sheet package of Staples 110 lb cardstock. I had it cut there at the store so now I have 500 bases ready to go (OMG -- I think I should go home from work and start using them up! :rolleyes. The quality seems very good -- definately a bit heavier than SU Whisper White. It was $14.99 for the paper and $2 for the cut -- definately worth it for the savings in time and wear and tear on my arm using the guillotine cutter. Now, if I could find a place to buy card stock in quantity that is the same style and thickness as the SU Naturals White (which is my ultimate favorite card base!), I'd be in heaven . . .

OMG, I did the same thing today!!! I never thought to buy cardstock there till I was in that pinch.. after reading this thread, I had to go investigate the cutting.. I went today and found the multi pack, one with white and the other with ivory. I had them quarter each pack and it only cost me $4.oo for them to cut.. my thought was I would spend a whole lot more than $4. on blades to cut all that paper.. I will only be using it to stamp on, I will stick with SU for my base. if all else fails and I find I don't like it, my girls will have a whole lot of paper to play with!!

Last night, I made 10 Christmas cards with the Staples cardstock as my base (I vowed to make 10 a month for 2009 so I wouldn't spend December in a Christmas card coma!) and I am very pleased with the result. Great value at what comes out to about 4 cents per card base!

Just wanted to mention for those of you who are having full reams of cardstock cut in half... For printing digital images, you can set your printer properties to print on those half sheets. Feed the wide 8.5" edge rather than the 5.5" side. I print on half sheets often, and it saves paper.

I didn't know that you could do this. Now I do. Thanks for the great info.

Have a happy stamping day!

Is the Staples #110 cardstock the same in Canada & US? Are both acceptable for Copics? Does anyone know if it is #110 cover or #110 index? I was in Office Depot (Canada) and they had #110 cardstock, listed as 200 g/sq m which would make it #110 index. I didn't buy any because I wasn't sure that 200 gsm was enough for Copics... The staples.ca website doesn't indicate gsm.

This whole 110 lb thing was so confusing to me until I came across this website:
http://www.paper-paper.com/weight.html
It may have been linked by someone here on SCS? If so, thanks!
