Hi everyone,
Has this happened to anyone else? You open the lid of a Stampin Up stamp pad and if flips off the track? I am having trouble putting it back on... any tips?
Yep. More then once. I have gotten them back on, but my hands and the outside of the stamp pad is a mess. I hope someone can give some good advice on this.
Ick! It wasn't the black, was it? What a mess! To get the lid back on, I just lay the lid down on top of the pad the way it would be if it were actually closed (so the little pegs are right on top of where they're supposed to go in?) and then press down firmly to snap them in place.
That has happened to me too. Try lining up the two little "bumps" on the lid with the "track" on the bottom part and slide them into the track at a slight angle. Once the "bumps" are in the track you should be able to straighten it out and slide the lid all the way back. Sorry if this is not clear, it's kinda hard to explain, but I have found the plastic is pretty sturdy and have not had difficulty reassembling the pads.
For some reason there are a few pads that do this - and it seems to be the same one or two that do it. They don't pop off everytime but just often enough that I have to stop and think about how I put it together last time. I do it like ellesart, sorry I can't give a better discription. Try opening another pad and looking at where the bumps fit into the track. The pads that pop do get messy fast so you can spot them after a while and open them extra carefully.
Mine has done that, and now it's to the point that it does it every time. The thing I found was I was trying to pop it in backwards, so I ended up bending the tracks. So just make sure you have it on correctly before popping it in. I always look at the labels because I wrote on the one end without a label, and so I know that the real label has to go on the other end (if that makes any sense?!)

That happened to me once with my Real Red pad. I was in a hurry to finish my projects at Regionals so I could go meet Shelli. I got to meet her!! With Real Red hands!! LOL

The popping off of the stamp pad lid has happened to me numerous times--and always during class. I've gotten very proficient at putting them back together again. My only trick is that I look at another stamp pad to make sure I'm putting it back together the way it should be put back together. It's no longer messy for me.
