I use all of the circles and the scallop circle punch the most. I also like the corner rounder and the slit punch. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you will love it!! Enjoy!

ALL OF THEM! Haha really I use all of them a lot. But as for the most it changes from time to time...so now it would be:
Circles (for layering)
Scallop circle
Both edge punches, scallop and eyelet
Modern label
ovals and scallop ovals
Really I would say buy what would go well with the stamp sets that you have. The reason for all the circles at the moment would be because I am using circle circus a lot.
Scallop punch
The one that makes it look like you've ripped the paper out of a notebook
Ticket corner
Those are the only ones I have, but I use them all the time. I love SU! punches. They are well designed (i.e. easy to line up when you're punching in a row) and punch easily.

Oh, and I have been layering the modern label punch over the large oval, it makes an interesting focal point and pops more than just the label punch. You can see the top and bottom of the oval behind the label.
I love the ticket corner and the word window. If you have a hobby lobby by you they carry the circles, squares, ticket corner, and corner rounder ek success punches. These are the same punches as Stampin up sells. You can buy them much cheaper with a coupon (plus there is no shipping or handling charges) or sometimes they all go on 40% off sale. I would stick to the ones Stampin up sells that you can't buy in the store.

I've been doing the same thing!!! It gives a really nice effect, and great pop to your card.
I cannot live without my circle punches. I do really like the new Modern Label punch, and you can make some interesting things using the 5 petal flower.
