I just watched a video introducing Stampin Up's new stamp placement/positioning tool and thought it looked interesting. They are taking reservations for the tool .... it won't be shipped until early next year.
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
The two sides to stamp on really ups the ante on the stamping placement tools! That’s cool! I won’t be the in market right now, as I have the Tim Holtz one, but I am impressed at the innovation.
Oh my, not another stamp position platform. I also have the Tim Holtz platform, but this one has two sides. I will wait to see the reviews before I take the plunge and buy it.
Just watched a video my demo sent me. I would order one if I didn't have the MISTI and the Tim Holtz platform. I like the "moving down one set of notches to create a repeating background" but not enough to warrant buying it. Just saw the price. $49!!!! That's a lot.
Wow. My upline had told me they were coming out with a MISTI so I thought they had just licensed it. This is something new. Looks like the We R Memorykeepers with major upgrades. I like the 2 moveable plates. But, alas, I can't cheat on Tim.
I checked it out, and it looks interesting, not enough different to have me rushing out to add it to my misti or TH stamp platform but if you do a lot of 3 or 4 layer stamping it would work well.
The only thing I didn't 'like' was that you have to remove the lids after use as they don't close full when attached. I can just imagine either losing or breaking at least one of the lids where I currently store my misti and platform
I love the top and side plate set-up, but *know* my arm will get inky from the stamp on the right when I ink the stamp at the top.
Plus the size when the top plate is open is a question. I always use the Tim platform right to left since I'd have to move the semi-permanent table setup (cans in an Organize More tool holder) if I went top-down.
Having two Mistis, a Tim platform (fave), and at one time a WRMK platform, I don't need another, though that's never stopped me. Measurements when the top plate is open will be the determining factor. Theoretically.
And I wonder if extra plates would be made available, rather than turning plates over, which would absolutely guarantee ink where I wouldn't want it to go. (I know me.)

OMG - THIS!
I somehow get ink on me when I'm just die cutting!
Broken record here. Whoever comes out with a compact stamp positioner to match my mini Misti has my cash. I think this is innovative but I just don’t have the real estate on my desk. Never say never though. I’m very fond of my TH even though I didn’t think I needed it. LOL on the ink everywhere potential and the not cheating on Tim.
I agree. The price is good for that size and the extra door. If it’s sturdy and gives a great image this could be the one. If it stamps well near the bumpers that would be a selling point for me.
Looked on a dozen demo blogs and no mention of the size.
In the demo she recommended trimming the card after stamping, probably to give margin room for placing those two large powerful magnets. Since my cardstock is precut that would be an extra adjustment for me. I was trying to guess the size of the thing based on maybe a card sized sample but the sample was larger. Maybe some of the demos who post here will chime in.
Also I noticed on the demo that there doesn’t seem to be metal reinforcement on the hinges. Looks like it’s all plastic-door and slots. The TH has metal lining in the hinge slots and a metal bar supporting the door hinge piece. Wonder how that will hold up moving them in and out. Not a dealbreaker but just noticing.
I can’t help thinking...do we need another stamp positioner on the market when we have had three others in past years. I think they are great and I have one. I am curious as to why after all this time would SU come up with another. I have to agree with others here after watching the video that while there are differences I don’t think they really offer much more than those already on the market.......and you don’t have to keep changing plates to fit the stamp. If someone was thinking of buying one this might suit them, but for those of us that have one...I don’t see any great improvement over the originals. Looking forward to hearing from customers reactions aside from demos.that’s where the rubber hits the road. Love their products as a rule.
There seems to be an appetite for it among my stamping friends. They have all reserved one and they all have Mistis and TH platforms. Stampin Up has their own rebranded Big Shot and some other tools also. If this one is “the best” when the reviews come out it could be a good business decision. Right now I kind of have stamp positioner purchase fatigue and haven’t thought about getting another one.
I'm not a demonstrator and have very little SU stuff, though what I have is so nice.
Consumers like choices. Sometimes it's the smallest difference that makes one person say wow and another say ugh. Car manufacturers. How many more SUVs do we need? Shoes. Pens. Ice cream. Inks! IO, SSS, Hero Arts and others contract with the same manufacturer and use same formula for certain inks.
I have three stamping platforms from two manufacturers and used to have a fourth. There are enough differences that prompted me to get rid of one, reach for another 80% of the time, and occasionally another, just depending. It's fun; I love stamping stuff.

Reason: sorry, typos
I’ll have to say that extra door kind of wags it’s tail and the size and openness makes it versatile. It’s like screwdrivers; you can’t just have one. Well maybe not exactly like screwdrivers.
I think the biggest plus for me would be the open side. I make top-fold vertical cards almost exclusively and my card base has to hang out of my MISTI. Having it flat would be an advantage.
Not sure about the wisdom of another tool though. I love my MISTI way too much!
Diane, Tim's platform has two open sides too, partly why I wanted it. Very sturdy (nice for us CPR stampers) and the price point is often $30ish; maybe there will be Black Friday sales. It's heavier and larger than the regular Misti - good/bad/neutral depending on one's perspective. It took me a couple stamping sessions for it feel completely natural. The curved piece is nice for easy opening - I open mine side to side. I still use Misti's but generally reach for the "Tim."
Wonder if the SU clear stamps with the label attached will stick to the clear plates???
In SU demo video they use 2 stamps with stickers on and didn't seem to have a problem. I use a Misti and most often don't have a problem with them sticking.

Good observation! I, too, make lots of Top fold vertical cards, and I dislike having the card base hang out of the MISTI.
I pre-ordered the SU whatever-its-called, not even realizing it would allow me to make Top fold cards without having the hanging out part bend. I am now twice as excited as I was about this new tool! TFS this!
I am an SU demo and I'm contacting them right now to ensure that although their stamps w/ stickers don't stick to acrylic blocks, that they guarantee they will stick on their new platform. I'll post what they say soon!!!

I will bet that they wont mention the word guarantee in their response to you. Likely they will hedge their bets with a a catch all comment that basically says they have every expectation that SU cling stamps will adhere if the labels have been properly applied by the owner.
We all know those clear stickers that that go on the back of the clings dont stick with any reliability. Just look through the posts here on SCS for proof of that. Im a realist, not a cynic, so please dont think I am finding fault with your effort!
I called and they said they aren't aware of an issue with the stickers not adhering to blocks and said it's being marketed to work with their stamps. So it should work. And I know you aren't a cynic, it's just sometimes hope gets the best of me

Now I have the Misti Original, the Mini and the Tim Holtz...I have found myself using the Tim Holtz more often and this has surprised me. I just think it's more versatile...but I may be having to get the SU one because of the two lids! Love that you can stamp more at a time!

am I reading this right?? SU claims they are NOT aware of the stickers on their stamps not adhering to acrylic blocks???
How can they say that, there has been nothing but complaints about those stickers when on a stamp don't adhere to acrylic blocks:o

Okay!!!! After reading this response from SU about the stickers I would like to amend my earlier comment about being a realist, not a cynic. This has tipped me over the top - I am now firmly in the cynic realm!!! Thank you, SU, for pushing me to a place I didnt want to be. :(
I was really upset by my conversation with them with so I emailed Demo Support with my concerns. I too had to stop thinking about it because I was getting so worked up and I'm a nice person too, I promise! I'd like to think the person who answered the phone is simply holiday help and if someone else had answered the phone, I would get a different answer. I sent the email to SU Friday and feel hopeful I will receive a better response when I hear back!!!

I'm the only stamper n the world that doesn't have a Misty type positioner. I'm about 90% SU but I dought I'll order this. I think it looks really nice. I just don't feel I have a need for it!
