I am so excited! I emailed Spellbinders about 8 months ago and asked them to please make scalloped dies because I love their geometric dies. I just got this preview email tonight http://www.franticstamper.com/wiz-preview.htm . These are absolutely awesome! I use them with my Cuttlebug and love the results. Not as easy to align images as with a punch but so much cheaper. Twelve dies for $80.
Thanks for posting this. I almost bought the new ones from Quickutz. My boss knows the owner of Spellbinder so I am going to check if I can get them at a discount.
I like that you can get straight edge and scallop.
Thanks Kathy. I think I should wait some more till other BS users say it's OK or give positive feedback. The scallops are really beautiful but kinda pricey.
My name is Stacey Caron and I am the owner of Spellbinders. I see you are all excited about the new and innovative dies that we are releasing very soon. However, some clarification needs to be made on what is happening with our new release. Some information has been leaked and is incorrect so I am her to "set the record straight" for everyone.
First and formost it is true... Spellbinders is releasing beautiful and GEOMETRICALLY PERFECT dies for matting and nesting. The scallops match in all the sets...... along with scallops will be plain nesting shapes that coordinate with the scallops! The beauty of these dies are that they really do MATCH at 1/4 or 1/8 increments!!
When Jeff and I started Spellbinders our TRUE goal was to offer innovative beautiful dies that Cut Emboss and can be used as Stencils! All at affordable prices......
... the geometric sets are unprecidented in their pricing structure..... they are going to be offered at a fraction of what punches retail for and storing them will be easy and take up minimal space.
The dies will work in other machines.....YES>>>>> I mean the Wizard, cuddlebug, bigshot, bigkick and reveloution ... No limitations to a machine when using ANY SPELLBINDERS DIE!
We have assembled a wonderful and talented team of ladies to educate all of you on the possibilities with these dies including instructions on using them in all the other machines YIPPEE
You all have been so wonderful and Spellbinders appreciates your suggestions and support! We do listen to our customers and give them what they ask for !
Hugs & Smiles to all
Stacey

Does any one know where in Canada we can get these????
I saw on the Spellbinder's site that they mentioned stores in Ontario and British Columbia. Paper Pastimes in Calgary Alberta usually has a large inventory of Spellbinders dies, etc. They don't have an ordering service though.

There is a store near Toronto that sells the Wizard and Spellbinder dies, but don't know when they will get new stock in. I will phone her on Tuesday (she is closed Sun and Mon) to see what she knows.

Thanks, I was hoping for a mail-order. I did order the butterfly die from Spellbinders, they have great service. I'm afraid if I order a big order from them such a the scallops I'll have to pay duty, which can get expensive.

Good to know, sounds like these new dies wouldn't be around til late summer. Keep us informed. We are crazy women wanting the newest gadget and toys.
Well, I'm glad to see the excitement about the new dies. By the way, my name is Cathy, a partner in crime to Eli, also on Spellbinder's design team and Wizard Academy coordinator. I haven't posted before, but have been a lurker for a bit.
I have a preview set of the circle dies I've been using to do some artwork for CHA and they are fabulous! I love the way the scallops line up perfectly and that you can use the plain edge circles in conjunction with them. They're great fun to play with. After doing a number of cards with them, I had a bunch of bit and pieces left over - solid circles, both scalloped and plain, and skinny and thick "frames" lying on my table in a little pile. It was so cool looking that I carefully ran it through my Xyron, stuck it to the inside of a card and used the scalloped circles to make a window in the card. I call it my "garbage" card, but it came out really amazing looking!
There are also some other new dies that are going to knock your socks off! Been using a couple of those also for CHA artwork. I can't imagine anyone not being excited once they see these. They are definitely terrific!
You are going to flip over these dies! They were well thought out before being designed. They were designed with you in mind to get the most for your money. I can't tell you more than that, but before jumping on a buying frenzy, with so many dies coming out, compare your options and make the best purchase for you!
My name is Kim and I work with Spellbinders teaching in the U.S and Europe. For some reason many people aren't aware of Spellbinders and how different the dies are. I LOVE to see the excitement the first time they see what an embossing die will do!
If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer what I can!
Anyone want some Marvy punches? LOL! Another great source for info on these awesome new dies is on Ellen's blog. What a great treat to wake up to this morning. She'll have them available for preorder. She also mentioned that Nichole (Papertrey) likes the new dies too...so chances are Nichole will be carrying them too at some point. My bank account is in SO much trouble.
Thank you to all for sharing in the excitement! I kid you not that this was the most incredibly difficult "secret" to keep maintained until we were ready to release it. I so wanted to shout from the rooftops so that you wouldn't be investing your $$$ in products that had other alternatives. But in this extremely competitive industry it makes it almost impossible to let everyone know what is coming down the pipeline. The incredible value, compact storage and unbelievable versatility will make these a tool that you will own and use for years. No more shredded papers after those punches give up the ghost AND you will be able to "punch" through materials that have not been able to be "punched" through previously.
Again thank you all for sharing in the excitement!!! I am off to post in the announcements section because I just have to share the news on the amazing group of ladies that will be showcasing this product line in the next few days. More announcements will follow when all else falls into place, but again thank you to all for your generous compliments and thoughts. You rock my world knowing that this innovative product that I was involved in helping design will make your crafting life more enjoyable!!!
Jumping up and down here in Seattle with excitement!!!
I've gotten to play with a few of these in prototype form as well. I have both a Big Shot and a Wizard, and, yes, they work in both. (I usually use them with the Wizard because I know what combination to run them through in to get both cutting and embossing.)
One of the nicest things about them, IMO, is that I have a set of 12 in ONE CD box. . . That's pretty sweet considering that my shoebag full of punches hanging over the door has warped the door hinges, it's so heavy!
Another thing that I like is that they emboss as well as cut, which really kicks it up a notch. I don't feel compelled to go back and pierce all of my scallops now. :-D
How about window cards? If you wanted to cut a window with a punch, you were limited on placement by how far the punch would go in on the page. Not with these babies: I put a window where I want it.
Finally, I like that they nest perfectly. I have to admit to having, ahem, perfectionist tendencies. . . (We can't say AR here, can we? ) Although I had bought plain oval punches to nest in my scalloped ones, the ovals were slightly differently shaped on the scalloped and plain punches, even though they were sold by a company as being nesting. So I'd pull out my Coluzzle for cutting plain ovals even though I owned punches that should have worked. The Spellbinders ones are right--that makes me happy.
I noticed all the brand new Splitcoaststamper's members who work with and own Spellbinders have chimed in here as well. Welcome to SCS everyone! Your new product looks like lots of fun!

This sounds very interesting. Im waiting on ordering more punches until these come out.
My Cuttlebug will be very happy if I get more toys to play with =)
Gina,
Thanks for the welcome. I have toured around the site and what a great place this is. I'm excited to discover you and help share my passion with you.
