IF my BIG KICK doesn't cut all the way through..I rearrange my plates and also just run it through the BIG KICK backwards. Seems to do the trick!

Default Hexagon Pinwheel Top Box

Please, has anyone tried this die and offer any advice? I'm having a problem holding the box together. I thought that each petal would overlap and they would hold each other in place but they ping apart.

Thank you for any help

I watched this video a bunch of times to see how to put this together, too.

Debbimom, thank you so much for the info, I watched it a few times before I realised what I had been doing wrong, it works perfectly now. It takes three little flat chocolates quite easily.

Yes you can use the impressabilities with the Cuttlebug. One thing that helps is to lightly mist the paper before embossing. The misting breaks down the paper fibres a bit and aids in the embossing process. I usually like to ink the impressabilities also...gives a cool effect. I just got the new grand impressabilities...nice!!! but cant be used with the Cuttlebug. You need the Grand Calibur ( bought myself a birthday present...Calibur and 2 Grand Impressabilities and a wonderful wings die...all for $200 tax in...shipped free

On my Spellbinders Wish List are sets of matting dies for the various popular sizes -- A2, A6, A7, and even A10. I'd love dies with various edges (plain with straight corners, plain with rounded corners, scallop, deckle, maybe one or two fancy edge dies like the Labels dies) in each card size. No more cutting wonky mats. Wouldn't that be awesome?!

ETA Wish List as in "I wish Spellbinders made these!"

Are these matting dies that you would like actually available or is it just that you wish they were? I am the same. Although I use a chipboard template to draw around I often don't seem to get nice straight edges for my background matting pieces. Often by the time I get them looking straight they end up a bit smaller than I was intending! LOL.

I have a very silly question. I dont have the dies with me so I cant test. When cutting, is the shape you cut the INNER or OUTER edge of the die? I hope that makes sens.

It is neither it is in between . The ridge in between the inner and outer edge is the cutting part.

Sue Wilson is a Spellbinders demonstrator here in the UK on our dedicated craft TV channel 'Create and Craft' and she uses the outside edge of a Spellbinders die to pencil outline and cut to make a faux nestie. Sometimes the next size die up is a little too big.

Her blog is here and she often uses this technique to give quite a close mat.

I just bought the nestabilities Lacey Ovals (S4-314). Does anyone know what ovals I need to coordinate with them? I want the oval to fit close to where the lacey part starts. KWIM? I have some ovals, but wondered if there is a better fit.

I have the Lacey Ovals and have the Classic Ovals Lg that work with them. Although there is not a small enough oval in the Classic Ovals Lg set that will work with the smallest in the Lacey Ovals set. Probably need Classic Ovals Sm for that......of course, I guess we should purchase both...right? HTH!!

I have the classic ovals Lg set, but the only one that fits well is the largest one. I guess I will buy the classic ovals Sm if I can find them in the stores locally! I have the Petite Ovals SM but those are more narrow, not wide enough. Thanks.

I know this has been mentioned before but I thought I'd repeat it for the newer folks. Occasionally cut a piece of wax paper between your card stock and die. It will help make your paper easier to pop out of the die.

The sizzix bigx xl dies will not fit in the Grand Calibur.

You can use the sizzix dies in the Raspberry Wizard. You will need the Raspberry Spacer plate - W-025. Its on the Spellbinders website under Wizard accessories.

HTH!!

have you tried lightly misting the paper before using the impressabilities. Many of my customers found the same thing and when I told them to mist the paper they found the impressions much better. These impressabilities are also great for inking!!

Thank you for your reply. I do see that one but it's not long enough for the bigz XL dies :(

The classic ovals are more egg shaped, and the petite have longer and narrower. The petite scalloped also have smaller scallops than the classic scallop. Not sure how they compare to SU products

You can just cut twice....KWIM? Run half of the die thru and slide the space plate over the other half then run that half thru the wizard. HTH

Here is a post that Sharon Harmnist did that shows the difference between the Classic and Petite Ovals. If you bought the Classic Scallops, the you will need the Classic Ovals. Hope this helps!

I am wanting to buy the Spellbinders Grand Templates: Wonderful Wings set, does anyone know if it will work in the Big Shot. I read the dimensions of the dies and none of them are too large for the Big Shot, so I don't understand why this set is listed for use with the Grand Caliber only.
Thanks for your help.

I saw that they have them on the Cut At Home website and you can use the 40% off coupon which brings the total plus shipping to around $38 for the set. Have fun shopping!!

Last week I bought the grand caliber at Joanne's using 40% off sale and then I had a 20% discount off of that. Which made for a great price. I also picked up Grand Labels One, four, and eleven. I ordered the Wonderful Wings from Cut @ Home since I was no longer concerned about it not working in my Big Shot. I am glad to hear it will still work in my Big Shot too!

Default Nesties Catalog?

Is there any way to get a Nesties Catalog? I am not usually a fan of a paper catalog anymore due to the fact there's internet, but I would love, love, love a Nesties Catalog.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get one? I'm dying to have one!
