Default smearing problems with Zings

Hello
has anyone had the problem of having their Zing embossing powder leaving a smear of colour across the card once the embossing powder has been tapped off? I have been using an antistatic pillow before I emboss. Any help / advice would be appreciated I have tried every thing I can think of.

Thank you in advance Ert :confused::confused:

Are you sure that you are hitting every spot with the heat gun for long enough?

I know sometimes when I get in a hurry I will miss a spot and will occasionally get a smear.

Just a thought.

Hi ert! The drier it is the more static there is which make the embossing powder "cling" to the card stock/paper. The embossing pillow may not be enough to combat the static. I keep a package of dryer sheets close to my embossing supplies and wipe my card stock with one of those before I stamp my image. HTH!

HI
thanks for the responses, I am getting the coloured smear before I use the heat gun. It is like a spread of colour coming away from the embossed area after I tap the excess embossing powder off. If I try and brush it off it seems to spread the colour and then the heat gun just sets it.

I have tried drier sheets as well. This is so frustrating there is only one other person I have come across who has this problem and she threw away her powder in frustration!

Ert :(
