Mine arrived on Tuesday but I didn't have a chance to start playing with it until today...I am hooked. I was out shopping with mom today and was showing her the cartridges at Archiver's so she'd know what I was asking for when she gets my Christmas list, and she went ahead and picked up the Basics 2 cart for me...but I can't have it until Christmas! We ventured to HL too while we were out and they had FaLaLa so I was able to pick that up with my coupon, so I got it for about $25 with tax. Yay! I love the snowflakes. I'm going to ask for a couple of the other carts and the storage bag for the carts and the carrying case for the whole set for Christmas - HL had some of them in stock so if this upcoming week's coupons don't exclude I'll print off a bunch and give them to her to use.
adjusting the blade totally helps with cutting thru thicker paper!!!
I finally got to play with it this A.M. and that did the trick. i am having the issue with the crooked circles so that will be my next project to work on with it.
I am definitly keeping it, getting rid of the box today!!
My slice arrived this morning. I was pretty worried about how it was going to perform, but it cut out the parts for 14 cards with no problem, using both PTI cardstock and SU designer paper. Here's a link to the prototype card I made: http://seanna.typepad.com/my_weblog/...card-swap.html

Hope your circles get worked out. I've got other toys (too many) that cut circles, so I haven't experimented with those on the Slice. The sad thing is that having the Slice is making me want the Cricut Expression as well for larger things. Time to start saving for next year!

OMG! I've been thinking the same thing about the expression, the only cartridge I want though is Storybook, well maybe design essentials too and it's on sale for Black Friday. Keep telling myself I don't need it.

I'm am having the worst luck with my slice. It's not cutting through my thicker cardstock (pti or stampin up). I've tried adjusting the blade but it doesn't cut all the way through and the cuts are not straight. Maybe I got a bad one?!
Joanns has 50% off coupons in the store this week. There are also some for the weekend of Dec 12-14. There were piles of flyers with them in the little metal basket right as I entered the store.
Since they're "real" coupons, not email/online coupons, Michaels will honor them. The fancy new Michaels near me had the Slice, Animal Crackers, Basic 2, the 12x12 glass mat, extra blades, spatula, and the tube of adhesive. The older Michaels did not have any Slice items.
If you take your kids/sisters/whomever you can with you, you can each go through the lanes with an item and a coupon. I've been through twice this week with 2 of my kids and have bought 6 items at 50% off each (making the Slice $75 whoo hoo!). I've got 3 more Joanns coupons left for this week. ;)
Hobby Lobby here will not take any other store's coupons, no matter if they're real ones or not. However, they are -- for now, anyway -- taking their own 40% off coupons for the Slice items. They have everything, too, including the bag and the design disc notebook/folder thing for storage. The kids & I have been through a few times *cough* and picked up the rest of the Slice stuff.
Hobby Lobby has an online coupon this week that you can print as many times as you need. I'm new and am not allowed to leave links yet, but maybe you can find this week's HL ad by using Google.
