Default Silhouette picture scanned and cutting help needed

Sorry for the long title but wanted to give as much info as possible in the title so not to waste peoples time.

I am cutting a decal for a friend that designed a logo. I have it scanned in my computer and on my silhouette studio program but I'm really not sure where to go from here. My software is version 1.5.0 and I'm just not sure how to ungroup so that I can take out the imperfections. Any help would be great!

Thanks!
