Question Silhouette Mat?

Does anyone know how I can extend the use of my Silhouette cutting mat?
I have JUST started using it ( cut about 20 images) and it is already trash
I know there is info out there regarding the cricut mats and these are basically the same thing, problem is I can't buy one with a coupon and dang they are expensive!
I am also interested in where you buy your replacements.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to help me.

I have a Pazzles Inspiration - the mats are similar. You can gently wash your mat under lukewarm water with a mild soap to help rejuvenate your mat. Just be sure that the water is not so hot that you melt the adhesive off... You can also resticky your mats with the re-positionable Xyron adhesive rolls - not a good as new, but it works in a pinch.

You also have to make sure you're using the correct setting so the blade isn't cutting too far into the mat. For SU cardstock I have it make two passes so it doesn't have to cut so deeply. Just copy the image and paste it right over the top of itself. The machine will cut it twice. Do you belong to the Sihlouette users group on Yahoo? It has a lot of great tips.

Katy,
I just signed up today, waiting for my approval.
I have been reading about a variety of ways to get my mat sticky again. I know it will not be like new but hopefully just long enough until I can find a new one.
Thanks for your help.

TL,
Thank you for your suggestion, I just tried the washing and it seems to be slightly tacky, I am going to try it and hope it will work until I can get a new one. Somethings gotta give if I need a new mat every 20 cuts , Yikes!

Thanks again for your help.
