Should I use the 40% off Michael's coupon to buy a coluzzle starter kit??? I am wondering who has it, who likes it, and is there something better that is around the same price???
Thanks for the advice...I know this is the place to ask...Rebecca

I can't really answer your question. I have one, and rarely use it. But, then I came across this and thought I would share. If you click on the link, she has a comment about her coluzzle.
My opinion is if you are a scrapper you have GOT to get a Coluzzle. I use ours occasionally for card making but my DIL uses it all the time to scrap. It takes a little getting used to but after you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. They make tons of templates for them to do other things, as well. Good luck with your decision.
I've had mine less than a month and LOVE IT! There are some threads on here that give some handy tips on using it...do a search for "coluzzle" and check it out. I had no problems using mine right off the bat because of all the wonderful tips found here.
Main tip...make sure you have BOTH sides of protective plastic coating removed from the templates before using them. I thought I had them removed but didn't. So they weren't working right for me. I deemed that coluzzle was stupid and I hated it. Didn't use it for probably a year. Until someone showed me that I'd only removed one side of the plastic coating. Once I removed both sides it cruised through so easily! Duh! I want to buy the tags stencil and the mini file folder stencils next.
I really like mine! I love the circle and oval templates and especially the tag one. I checked out ebay and they have so many more cool templates too. I love my circle and oval templates...because them are clear, I'm able to line them up exactly where I want them and they are perfect for making tunnel cards.
I have it also and really like it. I have several shapes and the tags and I use the tags on my cards quite often. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it really is great, IMO.
I love my coluzzle. I have the circle & square templates plus the gift tags, tiny tags, and a few others. Oh yeah, the folder template, the envelope template some alphas... The variety of templates is what I love the most.
I agree with post #3 - once you get used to it, it's fairly easy to use. I also think you get more use out of it for scrapping, but I'm sure there are plenty of templates great for cardmaking.

It's official...I'm a stamping addict (second only to my "being a grandma" addiction)!
I have the coluzzle, the sizzix, quickutz and CM cutting system with all the plastic templates to cut with. I use the sizzix most but love the coluzzle too.
Use the CM mat and the 3 cutters more than any other item of their line. QK I have a alpha set plus many dies...not in any hurry to buy more. (use them in my sizzix with adapter and converter)
Yes, the coluzzle seems to be hard for some to use...not sure why though. I took to it like a duck to water! I have MANY of the templates. I like variety...never know when I will use what! I've bought both coluzzle idea books (not the intro book). As previoiusly stated, make sure you have BOTH SIDES of the film off before you try. Also, the cutter works best one direction for me....if I am having a tough go, I just pick it up and reposition. It is very versitale and light weight. Make sure you get a kit so you get the cutter plus the pad. That pad is VERY important! Someone I once knew used the glass mat and couldn't figure out why it didn't work for her.
Would love to know if you bought and which you templates you got.

While it isn't the best shape cutter on the planet, I do use mine all the time and I'm not ashamed to admit I got mine at Mike's with a coupon too. Plus, you can demo with it if you are a demo. Go for it!
Just bought it today at Mike's with my 40% because I wanted to do those cool view master cards and I hated my Fiskars circle cutter. Plus, as a demo, I couldn't use the Fiskars one. I don't like the not perfect little cuts I get when trying to join up the circle halves, but it's better than what I had and easier to use.

I too bought just the circle Coluzzle about a year ago at Michael's, used it with my swivel Exacto knife on a self-healing mat AND HATED IT. Never used it again. Then, just last week I was in my local stamp store and was talking with the owner and told her I really want something to cut ovals. She pulled out her Coluzzle and made me try it right then and there - only this time, WITH THE OFFICIAL COLUZZLE MAT AND CUTTING KNIFE - and now I love it! I bought the starter kit and a couple of additional templates, and I can't wait to use them. So, my vote is yes - go get the starter kit.

I really like my coluzzle but I believe it is cheaper to buy the official coluzzle knife with a Michael's coupon and the mat (only $1) separately rather than the starter set. The templates that come with the starter set are not that useful.
I use my oval, rectangle and tag set template the most. The best advice I got was to use a nail file to file down the connector points.
I just LOVE the Coluzzle!! I have everything from letters to file folders to library envelope.....tags...ovals, squares, hearts!! Great for scrapbooking, cardmaking, small treat holders! Get one!! You'll love it!! Those that say they don't like them, aren't using them correctly!!! Ha! Ha! They ARE awesome!! Melissa
Can the Coluzzzle cutter be used on a CM mat? I am thinking of this to cut ovals, rectangles, etc. I have a major space (storage) problem and would like something more versatile than punches, if it works!!
I have the coluzzle but I guess I just can't figure it out. I have tried several times and just can't get the thing right. I always end up nicking my template and the cut is never smooth what am I doing wrong. I had purchased quite a few templates but just can't get it HELP!!!!!
I'm the opposite of klarson - I've had the CM system for a couple years and really dislike it. About 2 months ago I bought SU's set and I LOVE it. For me, it works much easier. Will be fun do demo.l

Forgot to mention...their website is very helpful. It explains (with photos) how to use the coluzzle system, offers lots of helpful tips, and also shows all the cool templates & kits available. Here's a link: http://www.provocraft.com/products/i...hp?cl=coluzzle

I have it for many shapes and I really like it. I would do as Glittergal suggested and check out the website, watch the video http://www.provocraft.com/video/index.php
and learn the different skill levels of templates before buying. The simple shapes like circles and ovals are easy but the stop and go cuts with sharp points take more time and it's not where you want to start out.
It's such a relief to hear that others struggle with the Fiskar's cutting system! I thought it was me! I tried everything to make that sucker work and finally gave up. Now it sits in my "what the heck do I do with this" drawer.
So, is the Coluzzle system in the SU catty the starter set you all are talking about?
I just love my coluzzle. There are so many things that you can do it. I bought my starter kit at Kent and it came with both the oval and the 90 degree templates. They are very versatile
