Default ShinHan Twin Touch Marker Users: Color Combinations Recipes

Hi!

I have been stalking the Copic threads and tutorials and really like how they are sharing color combinations. Since there are a growing number of us using Twin Touch markers, I have decided to keep track of my color combinations and share them with whoever is interested.

I have made myself a cute little color combination diary, which you can see on my blog (in my signature). It is very simple but very helpful! This way I don't have to reinvent each color when I start a new project. Warning - my blog is not a one of the many wonderful, fancy blogs full of projects, but it has some beautiful photos of my life in Alaska and some goofy stuff)

So if you have a Touch marker color combination you like, please consider sharing it on this thread

Skin tones - I found some European sites which sell Skin Tone sets and these are the colors in the set:
26 Pastel Peach
27 Powder Pink
28 Fruit Pink
29 Barely Beige
131 Skin White
132 Milky White
133 Baby Skin Pink
135 Pale Cherry Pink
136 Blush
137 Medium Pink
139 Flesh
140 Light Orange

*I would consider 138 Light Pink

I have come up with a good darker skin combination which you can see here
BVC11 January Ezekiel 34:26 by jovian7 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

for Indian, Asian, Eskimo
133 Baby Skin Pink
25 Salmon Pink
107 Sand
and a touch of 139 Flesh

Denim blue coat:
144 Pale Baby Blue
76 Sky Blue
74 Brilliant Blue

Boots:
107 Sand
169 Putty
96 Mahogany

Hair:
120 Black
CG9 Cool Grey
CG8 Cool Grey
76 Sky Blue

I have a few more stamps colored but not yet posted. I will those color recipes as I add upload them to my gallery.

I can't wait to see what other color combination Touch users are coming up with

I'll be back... I have been practicing but I just feel like I don't have enough colors per color family to do really good blending. I'd love, just for blending in general, a list of combinations of 3 - light, med, and dark shades that work well together. I have used Cream, Dark Yellow, Brown Grey and Dark Umber together a few times, and the Blue Greys for faded jeans.

Here is the chart I made to keep track of colors... this is in numerical order. I've colored in 'name' area with the markers I have.

FYI, if you are buying individual markers, Green Bice and Anise are almost identical. Purple grey looks nothing like the sample, and the pastel markers seem quite bright to me...

Here are some color combinations for light brown hair and fair skin - I am still waiting until I can get some better skin tone Touch markers . I tried using just a blender pen to creat freckles but didn't like how it was turning out so I just recolored the face but here is still a tad of mottling.

Autumn's 3 Years Old! by jovian7 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Hair:
107 Sand
96 Mahogany
101 Yellow Ocher
134 Raw Silk

Skin:
26 Pastel Peach
133 Baby Skin Peach
109 Pearl White

Jumper and Socks: This has an antique white undercolor, colored under the blue. It gives a nice antiqued eyelet fabric feel to her clothing.
144 Pale Blue
109 Pearl White
185 Pale Light Blue
134 Raw Silk

Socks are dotted with a pint, I didn't keep track of which pink.

Balloon:

34 Pastel Yellow
141 Buttercup Yellow

I hope this helps other Touch marker users

Here is a youtube vid I found of making a really cute tag and coloring the digi image with Touch markers. She shows each color she used.

Dickblick.com has lowered their price on ShinHan Touch Twin alcohol markers to $1.89 each!

These are on clearance because Touch markers are coming out with a refillable model and brush markers soon! Excellent price for an excellent marker!

I got $20 in my pocket and that will get me 10 more colors! Yay!!!

I wonder if the old style will be refillable? It would be interesting to see if one could refill the old style. Someone would have to be willing to try it though.

I asked ShinHan that when I called them because the box my markers came in said they where. However, I was told there is something different with the size of the nib part on the new refillable model. It would be difficult to get the nib back in the current model. I have seen that people have refilled unrefillable markers on some of the manga forums, but the inks where not the same color or brand as the marker started out with. It also sounded like the new nibs won't fit into the current markers.

Played with my markers today:

feeding the chickies by dini - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

On the hair, I used Sand, Burnt Orange, and Chestnut Brown.

thanks for all the help guys, my order has shipped but it will take a while since I am in Canada. Does anyone have a good source for tutorials? I plan to play with them when they get here and I think I will scan some stamps to practice.

The nibs pull out and go back in on the current markers so if the colors stay the same then I don't see why the current markers wouldn't be refillable. So unless they are going to some sort of a cartridge refill system (or changing the ink colors) there shouldn't be a problem.

That's what I needed to know! If I had any of the old style, I would certainly be trying to refill them! Cause you would have nothing to lose!!

I love to play with everything.
I had one marker that was so light I did not even know if there was any ink in it.
I put one drop of alcohol ink on both tips and it works just great. The ink I added was just a bit darker. The cap is now more like the ink in the marker now.
I also have some reinkers for the copics. I will eventually try a drop of two of one of those colors when the ink runs dry--of course will use very very similar colors.

I was looking at a PFD that Tria markers put out and they have ink refills and said one way to refill a marker was just to put some of refill ink in an approprate container (glass or whatever) and just stick your marker in the ink, the nib will suck it up and absorb the ink back into the marker. That sounds resonable to me! and along the same idea as Larue had. Like Jeanne said above, just use the same nib - As long as the nib isn't worn down, I don't see any reason not to try it.

Such smart ladies here!

The ShinHanArts.com website PFD for the markers shows the refills. I didn't really pay attention to "how" they are refilled.

Hi Corrie, you can use any Copic, promarker, Prismacolor marker tutorials. All these types of markers work exactly the same way. Just do a search. There are getting to be more and more Touch Twin marker tutorials as their popularity grows here in the US.

I bought some new touch pastel markers just beautiful. One problem my 44 fresh green marker is a lovely shade of orange.
