Someone mentioned on another thread that SU's Shimmer paint is the same as Tsukineko's All-Purpose Ink. Is that so? ... And I, too, am hoping that folks will share some other ideas for using Shimmer.
I saw that video too - and I want to get some but am wondering about which color to start with?!?!?!??!?!
I'm with you, Cathy!!! I'm sure someone out there has a comparison of what the colors look like when you actually use them, but I haven't found one yet...
Does anyone know of a comparison of the 3 shimmer paint colors?? TIA!

That's exactly what it is. The 3 Shimmer paints are new colors they added to the line.
If you were going to order just one it would be the Champagne Mist. It's translucent with little gold specks. Platinum is just a shiny silver paint. Frost White just doesn't do a thing IMO.
You do have to clean everything between uses which is not an easy task. Champagne Mist does leave little gold flecks on your stamp which does transfer to your stamp pad.
Should anyone have any suggestions on using these, I'm here to listen.
I think I saw six metallic shades on an online site when I googled All Purpose Ink. Yes, that is what you are getting from SU. I want all six colors! There are also a lot of other, non-metallic colors.

Thanks for sharing your suggestions! I have heard the Champagne was a favorite from another person, too.
I'm going to be placing an order tonight and am leaning towards the Champagne, but I sure would love to see pics of the 3 side by side if annyyyooonnneeee out there has them.

there are a lot of projects to use with this type of paint. This time of the year shimmering leaves, apples and pumpkins would be great.
the gallery on this site has a number of selections done with shimmer paint, here: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

your topic puiqued my interest because I just bought shimmer paint, but it is
Plaid folkart extreme glitter, for a reasonaable price at Joannes, and it is high
glitter and easy to apply with a paint brush. I was working on a clipboard project when I viewed your topic. So, here is a project, also, that is a clipboard, and has nice
glitter appearance in real viewing. shimmer paint clipboard by stampencamper at Splitcoaststampers

I did a project this weekend with the rose from Fifth Avenue floral. Stamped the rose in black Staz-on and rubbed the shimmer paint (white frost or Champagne Mist) over the cut out rose with a sponge dauber. It was beautiful and only took a few minutes, one or two to dry. I love the way Champagne mist looks on colored card stock...really pretty on red! I think you can also try mixing a little re-inker in with a small amount of the Shimmer Paint and stamp with it in color or paint it on your image!
I bought the White shimmer and so far have used it on whisper white as it makes it much more shimmery than the Shimmer White cs. I also applied it with sponge dauber to black paper and gave it a misty night look for Halloween cards. Great stuff!
Hi all - I wanted to share a link to yesterday's post on Karen Fontinelle's blog where she has a couple of pictures using all 3 shimmer paints on one card!

I just got the white and silver. I used the white with a little of a Chocloate chip re-inker and mixed it together to make shimmery chocolate chip paint to watercolour my images... it looks soooo pretty... so now I have all new shimmery Su inks!
I just used mine for the first time and LOVE the result on embossed images, here is my project.Im going to be a shimmer paint junkie for sure!! up close butterfly wand
