When I'm sewing rounded corners, I don't use the foot pedal. I sew the line up to where the corner starts and then turn the knob by hand to sew around the corner.

I purchased the Janome Sew Mini because of Gina K and her tutorial. Also, it is NOT a throw away machine, but a real sewing machine in mini form. Gina K's tutorial on how to use it is a must. I think she has the best videos out there.

I have the Janome Sew Mini and love it! I have never been into sewing but I enjoy using this little machine just for paper and lightweight fabric (such as muslin) projects. The threading and bobbin work almost exactly like the late-1950s era Singer machine of my mother's that I first learned to sew on (which means: EASY PEASY). It has 3 sizes of zigzag stitch and 3 sizes of straight stitch. It doesn't take up much room and it's so light, I can pick it up with one hand to move it.

I bought mine at Hancock Fabrics for $50 last November or so. But I was just in the store last weekend and they had it on sale for $40. :p

Mine says

Input: 120VAC 60Hz 110mA

Does that help?

The needle in my Janome Sew Mini is the same size as Universal Size 11 (75). They're labeled for light to medium-weight fabrics.

Helps me! I'll have to run mine on the transformer. No biggie. At least it's not like a heat tool that will blow the circuits ;) lol!

I got a Janome for Mothers' Day. I have a really nice sewing machine handed down to me by my MIL but it's so big and heavy I hate to drag it out just to use for a card. So I'm excited to use this one!

Thanks for the link to stamptv. I was going to go read back through Jody Morrow's blog but I think I'll try this first as it seems like it might be easier to find!

Thank you Niki,
Why didn't I think of that? I guess I don't have my thinking cap on. I shall test it out right now. Thanks again

Thanks Karen, this helps a lot. I will have to check if I can run this on a transformer. Then I have to figure out how to get it to Malayisa!! I do miss having all these things right on the doorstep, and not having to plan about 6 months in advance what I want to buy and then getting it to me. Thanks again for your help. Fi
