I use mine every time I make a card. I have brought it to friends' houses and they usually end up buying one for themselves. I think it is worth every penny!!

I use a bone folder for cards now...what would be the difference as far as card making?

I recently went thru the debate of SCOR-IT or SCOR-PAL, and my friends who own BOTH said they love both...

This doesn't help does it....

taiboo.......In my opinion, the advantages to using the Scor-Pal over just using a metal ruler and bone folder are as follows.....the measurements are already there for you, there is no guessing or measureing to be certain that your line will be straight....if you make different size or style cards, it's easier to know exactly where to score to get the folds correct.....it makes a clean and crisp score mark that you can't get with just a metal ruler and bone folder.....if you make any of the projects on this site, using the Score-Pal will make that design work much easier......you can use it as an extra element of embellishment for your cards or other projects....etc.

These are just a few of the reasons to use a Scor-Pal over a metal ruler and bone folder. I use mine with every card and also every project I make. After choosing and cutting the paper size, the Scor-Pal is the next thing I reach for.

I like the fact that you can make score lines anywhere on your card -- and they are straight! I've seen some really cute cards with a section in the middle of the card scored -- and then Cuttlebug embossing on both sides of the score lines.

I'm in the same boat at Taiboo. Still deliberating over it. So used to my ruler & bone folder (old fogey that I am). However, a local stamp store just sent a 25% off Score-It coupon. Maybe I should think heavy before that one expires - ya think???

I just got my Scor-pal recently. The first time I used it, I almost cut the paper with the scoring tool. Oops - too much pressure. Every other score has just been perfect. I have it right next to my paper trimmer and I don't think I will ever put it away. Before I used the scoring blade on my trimmer or a metal ruler and my bone folder. Using the paper trimmer almost always gave me a slightly off-center score. And I hated the measuring involved with the ruler. Bottom line - I am so glad I invested in my Scor-pal.

Add me to the list of those who love their Scor-pal! As an SU! demonstrator, I score A LOT!!! This has saved me so much time and effort. Diana is a genious! I have friends who've tried both and none of them cared for the Scor-It. To answer your question.... The Scor-pal is *totally* worth it!!!

I had the mini Score-it first because I only make cards. I had trouble cutting through my cs because it is a little tricky at the top and bottom. The scoring is done on a metal piece. Saw people were using the Score-pal on items so got on their website and called their number. The lady that answered was very helpful. She 'walked' me through how to use it via my being on the computer and she looking at the real thing. She checked her listing of stores in my area. I called the store and drove over to try it out. Because the price at my LSS was higher than buying from the Score-pal online store even with shipping, I bought from Score-pal. I think if you buy in quantity from Score-pal there is no shipping charge. Maybe you and some friends can purchase at the same time. (Do support my LSS. They watch me walk into their store and see $$$ sale on 2 feet!) It has a place of honor between my Cuttlebug and paper cutter. Use it all the time. Agree with all the 'must have it' comments above.

I can honestly say I thought I was doing OK with just my bone folder, too. I was actually gifted my ScorPal from a very generous elf at Christmas time. The first time I used it I was in AWE!! When using my bone folder, my cards always seemed a little off. Not by much, but enough that my OCD brain was really bugged. Now my scored cards are perfect every time. I also use my Tonic cutter to cut my paper, which helps a lot!

I felt the same way as you for many many months. I had always used my Fiskars score blade on my cutter and that was never a true measure. When I purchased my new desk top cutter, I tried using the bone folder and never felt it was a clean fold. I finally had a 40% coupon to use and decided that maybe that was the time to take the plunge. It was a GREAT decision. I love having all the measurements right there and know that they are a true score. Now that I have it, I use it just as much for scoring on my cards for effect, emblishments etc. I don't think you will be unhappy when you make that decision and get it.
