Default sanding

hey Everyone,

I really hadn't done much sanding until this week when I (finally) did the
cards in the September special from CTMH. I like the sanded look- they have white core paper. BUT. I hated the sandpaper in the kit- it just tore into little pieces. I have a sanding block, but it is too rough or something- it does
fine on the edges, but if I dry emboss and want to sand it, it just chews it up.

So, what do you use to sand with?

Thanks,
Anne

I have the Basic Grey kit which has different files and several flat emery board sort of thingys! I also use the edge of my nail at time....I'm one of those with "working hands" always inked stained and rough!

Maybe you can find a finer grit sanding block, because sanding blocks are easier I think.
Ive also used the heidi Swapp little sandpaper pack and nail files

The white nail buffer blocks that you can buy at Sally Beauty Supply (and probably lots of other places) are inexpensive and work like a dream.

Here's a link to a picture:

I think I've seen similar ones at Dollar Tree

Hmmmmmmmm I think I have one of those nail buffer blocks that I bought a long time ago and it's stored with some old nail polish! LOL! I need to look for it and add it to my stamp supplies!

Thanks for the tip!

In the UK there's a product called Silky Mitts - they're designed for removing hair from your legs but they're essentially very fine grade sandpaper and they're great for papercraft! (pic here: http://shinymedia.headshift.com/kiss...27/slikmit.jpg) As you can roll and bend them you can get them into tight corners (inside apertures of chipboard letters etc). Not sure if they're available in the US but if not, you might find something similar at the drug store with the hair removal stuff.
