I have the rotary trimmer, and I was thinking about
purchasing the scoring blade. I was wondering if anyone
has used the scoring blade or the decorative blades.
Any input would be appreciated!!
Thanks
Kellie
The blades are great if you're going to do a LOT of something. But changing the blades is such a hassel that I don't bust out my decorative blades for everyday use very often. On the up side I love being able to make a straight cut! If I use decorative scissors I have to draw a light pencil line in order to cut straight.

Mine pretty much sits right here next to my feet while I reach for the small FISKARS and my CM Personal Trimmer. Don't know why I never use it.

The Fiskars rotary is my favorite and I think I've tried them all including the large Carl Cutter, which I eventually sold. I have the scoring blade and all the decorative blades. I LOVE IT!!
I used the scoring and decorative blades for wedding invitations I made last August and I can tell you - if it weren't for those, the invites wouldn't have gotten done!
You can also buy a handheld rotary cutter that the blades fit - it looks like a pizza cutter, and you might need to look in the sewing section of Jo-Ann's to find it - and you can then use your decorative blades for curved cuts.
If you already have the cutter, I'd definitely get the blades. But I do find that I only seem to use it if I'm doing a large number of items. For single cards, I usually grab my 12" personal trimmer.
I have a perforation and wave and score blade for mine... the only times I use it is cutting down large sheets of strathmore for making accordian books.
I use mine all the time. I got the big cutter before I got the little 12" one, so I tend to use the big cutter more. The only time I use the smaller one is when I'm just doing one or two cards and don't feel like getting the other one out. The big one is terrific when doing lots of cards (like at Christmas time). I do all the cutting first, then I switch out the blade for the scoring. I have the deckle decorative blade, but I seldom use it. If you aren't pressing hard enough to cut through the cardstock the first time with the deckle blade, you get a messed up edge by trying to go back over it (since all the little deckle ridges don't match back up exactly). It could just be operator error *wink*.
I bought mine with a Mother's Day gift card and 40% off at Michael's - what a bonus!! I love it and have a few fancy blades which are great for projects. I have a scoring and a perforation blade on my wish list.
I absolutely love my rotary trimmer. In fact, whenever I go to a crop, I take it with me cause I can't stand my little ones anymore. I also use the scoring blade anytime I need to make a card. I don't find it too much of a hassle to change the blades out and I love the look of scoring rather than folding the paper and using the bone folder.
I love mine. THe deckle edge is great for 12x12 borders for scrapbook pages. The scoring blade is great for when I want to "cheat" on projects like stationery boxes for my guests.
I love my rotary cutter and all the blades including scoring. I don't mind changing the blades as needed. My only problem with it is that it isn't very portable. I love the straight and even cuts.
I love this trimmer. It is the one I always come back to. The blades are not that hard to change, once you do it a couple of times. The scoring blade is great- you know exactly where the score line will end up, I saved the box it came in and use that when I travel with it. You do need to have the space for it. I have it on a counter and I go to it to cut rather than moving it around.

I have never seen the scoring blade for the rotary trimmer. It isn't at our Michael's because I've looked. Where else can I purchase the scoring blade? Is there anyplace online to get them?
