Smile QuicKutz New Release

http://www.quickutz.com/index.asp?Ca...ting&FSCat=236

I have a QuicKutz Revolution tool and I'm "wow'd by the Cookie Cutter Nesting Die Cuts they just released.

SCALLOPS of all sizes....Bulky heavy punches replaced by just one heavy tool and a simply diecut!!

Anyone else excited?

Wow, I was just researching punches because I want some scalloped circles. I have a Cuttlebug, I wonder if I can use those dies on my bug????

Instead of having those huge hand punches that would solve it all for me.
Thanks for the info. I hope I can use them.

I don't think cuttlebug and quickutz are compatable

It only cuts 4"x4" but I love the machine!!

I have used the grand size quickutz in my sizzix big kick, it works fine. I can't wait for my LSS to get these, I heard there was a problem with shipping. They were supposed to be in the stores today and won't be in until Fri!! Bummer, these looks GREAT and I already reserved a few different ones. Definitelt the flowers and phrases and ovals!

I own a quickutz but not a Revolution and use the Revolution dies in my cuttlebug. I bought my bug with a 50% off coupon or I would have bought the Revolution bc I love quickutz.

I purchased these from a stamp store at their "pre-sale" and I was told that with the multi-purpose platform I could use these dies in my big kick. They are in the mail and I should get them by Friday. I'll let you know if it works.

you can use them in the old sizzix, BUT you need the converter plate, and some dies will cut better then others...

I actually use my QK dies (all kinds) in my cuttle bug and only use my sizzix for the big steel dies...
( I use the slim plastic sizzix dies in the cuttlebug too) the roller just cuts better for me.

hth,
Okay now i have a question, i clicked on that store link and it has a bloom die that says its a boss cut.
( it says its a 3X3 die) but, i have never seen this brand, is it something like a qk or cuttlebug slim type die or a big steel ruled kind?
( IE will it work in a cuttlebug or an original sizzix?)

tia,

BossKut work in the CB too. They aren't big steel dies - they are comparable to the sizzlit. you cut them using the B plate. I have some of the bosskut shortkutz phrases and they are really cute!

I am absolutely STOOKED about these dew dies! They'll take up MUCH less space on the cutting pad, so you can get more letters/images cut per pass! And you can use them to cut out windows, too! SO happy that QK FINALLY did this! That Magnoia font will be mine... oh yes, she WILL be mine! LOL

My QK dies (original AND Revolution) work perfectly in my CB. In fact, once I got the CB I packed up my QK handtool and haven't looked back. I have carpal tunnel issues and using the hand tool was painful sometimes. Running them through the CB has taken care of that and I absolutely LOVE it. Can't wait to get my hands on these new dies!

Does anyone know how large the largest scalloped circle is in the cookie cutter die? I love QK and I've only been a die cutter since February but I'm not really understanding the cookie cutter dies. How are they different then other revolution dies besides the fact that they have multiple shapes in one die?

The difference is that you can cut shapes (or letters/words) within shapes, all in one pass--it just depends on how you lay it out on your sticky mat. It's really cool!

I'm really excited about the Cookie Cutters. I went to my LSS yesterday and they are on order. I don't have a revolution but my mom does. I use all the QK dies in my BigKick though, I don't know why the cookie cutters would be any different?

I love the Spotlight alphabet, but I don't think I would use it enough to justify buying it right now. But all the new stuff looks great and i can't wait to see it.

When the LSS demo'd them last week, they also demo'd on a Big Shot to show that they are, indeed, compatible with that machine.

Congrats! If you bought the scalloped circle die can you tell me how large the largest circle is? I have the CB flower dies and the marvy punches. I'm not sure I need this die too. Maybe I'll save my cash for Magnolia.

You can use the cookie cutters with your Cuttlebug. Use the large white mat, then the new QK Sticky mat, the cookie cutter die, your paper right side down, then the 2nd half of the sticky mat and then mat 'C'. I have the scallops and I was able to cut them all out with this combo.

FYI - the sticky mat is very sticky, so you may want to test some paper first in case it sticks too much.
