Default QuickKuts Revolution

Does anyone have a QuickKuts Revolution? What are your thoughts on this product? I've been thinking about getting one but afraid I wouldn't use it enough.

I have one and love it, however I do not use it enough. It could be because my scrap room isn't finished yet so I have to dig for my tools most of the time. I also have the Cuttlebug and adore it! Use that one more often right now cause card making is much faster. I will say that I don't have alphas for either, I use my Quickutz hand tool for my alphas still.

I think I've read that the Quickutz Revolution will only use the QK dies. That might be a "con" about this product, unless you only like the QK dies! ;) The other machines (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, Sizzix, Wizard) can use competitor's dies.

Just something to think about.

Thank you for the information.
Do you like your hand tool for the alphas?

HI! I have to chime in here too! If I were gonna make an investment in a die cutting machine... I would really llook at a Bigshot or BigKick... I htinkn HSN just had the Sizzix BigKick on sale for 99.00 -- and the beauty is.. you can use ANY die in these machines... I have a Bigshot--- and never looked back!!!

as soon as I started using this... it made my QK hand tool, old sizzix obsolete... and noooooot needed! Hope this helps!!!

Even if you like the QK dies.. you will be able to use them easily ... in the Bigshot or Big Kick... and you really dont need to learn a "recipe" for stacking A, B or Cs cutting plates... as you do the cuttlebug...
Just a thought!!!

Just be aware that some of the alphas can't be used with the hand tool. There are many that are too large - they can be used with the revolution or other machines like the CB or BK. I only have the CB but I constantly use QK dies.

I do, but there is a learning curve and if you have weaker upper arms you may run into issues. Had a multi use platform been available when I originally purchased my hand tool, I probably would have gone that way instead.

I know I can use all my QK dies and goosebumps in my CB, but I still haven't done so because then I would feel that I wasted my money on the QK cutters.

I have the Big Kick and use the Revolution alpha BLOSSOM dies in it with no problem. Love this alpha set. I have also used cuttlebug, quickutz and all sizzix dies using the adaptor platform. Versatility is well worth looking at. The Revolution is very sleek looking, but you can only use it's dies I think. I didn't see any adaptors for other mfrs. HTH

I believe the Revolution takes Wizard and BossKutz dies, but only as long as they aren't larger than 4x4. My mom has a revolution and loves it, but she only shops at one store and they only carry one kind of die - so it's not a big deal to her. I think the Quickutz dies are great and they have great customer service.

On the other hand, I have a BigKick, and love the versatility. I can use ANY die from any company, including QuicKutz. I love the Cuttlebug embossing folders because of the size, and they go right through my BigKick. I have now seen the BK at Js and Ms, and the BigShot (identical) at Archivers.

Thank you all for the very useful information. It sounds like I need to look into the BigKick. Is that made by Sizzix?

I have to add that I just bought the Quickutz Silnhouette, it's a cutting machine run by your computer. It is a bit more ($299), but if you start adding up alpha (quickutz $199) and that it can do any size scallops and straight shapes (circles, squares, ovals) it is a good investment. I can't wait for my LSS to have thier tag sale so I can sell my alpha and punches. It cuts all ttf fonts and most of the matches for Quickutz and Sizzix are free. Good luck!

Yes it is... I think QVC and costco usually have it on sale.. for the starter kit. the cool thing about these machines.. is you can cut chipboard too.
