Default Question with Prisma markers. . . . .

I was curious about the copic markers, but decided to try my hand at the prismas (thought I would get my feet wet without spending a ton of $$$$). Apparently I've got some learnin' to do, but what is the deal with the blender pen? It doesn't appear to blend two colors together seamlessly, or am I using it wrong? Am I wrong in expecting watercolor-like blending effect? And is the blender pen used to actually blend colors together?

I'm sure I sound like an idiot, but I'm new to non-watercoloring and am a little confused.

Thanks for all your help :-)

Cindy

cindy, as far as the blending pen goes, consider it something used to take color away to make an area lighter. you can do this and then go over the "edges" of where it "tried to blend with the colored marker again to acheive a more blended look, coloring on small circles while the alcohol (from the marker) is still fresh. i would not say it's a watercolored look, just a shaded look.

Thank you for answering that question. I'm new to Prismas and I've wondered about the blender pens too..

Marianne is a teacher for Copic Certification and has been doing some awesome teaching on her blog for color with the Copics. I would assume that they would color similar to Prismacolor markers so you could use some of the same teaching to apply to them.

Thanks for your responses! I'll have to play around to get used to how it works.
