I rarely get an even card and almost always have to trim my cards after I score them. The very nice scor it people emailed me once and offered to replace the whole thing, but I said no. I think some of them may not be even or maybe it is operator error.

Mine don't come out even unless I move the paper just a smidge to the left. I guess it's not perfectly even. Now that I know to move the paper a little, I can deal with it this way.

I've experienced this as well. I even measured their ruler last night, and found it to be correct, so I'm not sure what the deal is. At least I know I'm not the only one.
If you're talking about Score Pal, I have one and have never had a problem with it being accurate. Just make sure your paper is cut squarely and you lay it below the little ledge, not up directly under the numbers on the ruler.
I got a great tip from a friend of mine - when using the Scor-It, turn the board upside down, so you are scoring downward towards the top of the board - the lip at the top will keep the paper from moving as you score.
Ooops.......My apologies. I thought perhaps there was a typo error on the initial post for this thread. There actually is another scoring tool called Score It. All these things have such similar names, it gets confusing.
Please disregard my above post. I was talking about a completely different scoring tool.
Sometimes the paper can be the wrong dimension...I know I sometimes get packs of cardstock from SU! that are 8 9/16" x 11" instead of 8 1/2" x 11" and then sometimes the 11" dimension is off. If your cards are consistently coming out uneven, I'd measure the paper.
It could be:
A. the paper is a little off in it's dimensions, not a true 8/5 x 11, or
B. the paper could actually be cut slightly crooked by the mfg (I've experienced both.), or
C. the measurement guide is off a fraction, this happens to me when I've got to reset the guide back to the 4 1/4 measurement, does the guide go right on the line, just after the line, I can never remember so I do a test every time
D. are you scoring on the inside of the paper, if I'm not mistaken with the score it the card front goes face down and then the paper is folded out
E. did you cut the paper straight to begin with? (I don't all the time!), or
F. None of the above!!!
