Default Pleeze help....PhotoShop question....

I have a clip art I want to print that has a transparent backround...when I print using PS, it prints a brown backround, eventhough is shows the backround is transparent. I dont have any other program that I can size the image to my needs. How can I print without that brown backround?

When I use the windows gallery print feature, it prints the image perfectly but it is either to big or too small.

I have wasted so much ink and paper. Even using the econo mode...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

TIA

If you use Windows, you should have Paint installed. Select the clipart, right-click, then choose Open With, choose Paint, and click on that. When Paint opens, you can do some rudimentary cropping, adding words, etc.. When you are ready to Save, choose Save As and a list will appear. Choose .jpg (or .jpeg). Then Save to your folder of choice. This should give you a white background instead of transparent. Hope this gives you another option.

Ive tried using Paint but I seem to have a sizing issue..I cant seem to find/see a ruler and in order to resize, it goes by %...instead of inches...I guess I will have to play some more to get it right....will give it another shot

Oh, I just tried it, and guess what? the clip has a brown backround...really??god knows why that would be since it was downloaded with a transparent one...grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok, I played with Paint and I was able to change the backround color from brown to white.THANK GOD..I even got it to size..close enough for what I need it for..Thank you,Joan, for making me try one more time....

Monika, I so glad you were able to change the clipart to your liking. There is another program that came with Windows (XP PRO) and it might be on your computer: Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Select your clipart, right click and choose Open With, then choose Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Once it is open, you can crop by dragging the corners or midway on the outside edges; you can flip or rotate the picture (rotating is done by degrees); you can correct by Brightness and Contrast, Color, Red-eye removal, resize (predefined width x height, custom width and height in pixels, and percentage of original width and height) and compress.

Go to the top of the screen and locate and click on the Edit Pictures button. This will help you to finesse your editing.

I use both Paint and MS Office Picture Manager all the time to resize and crop tutorial pictures (no need to print out and waste unnecessary ink when it isn't needed).

Good luck!

Have you tried making a "new" background and using the "move tool" to take the print onto the new background. You should be able to set the background on the new one to transparent, white and a few other options. You may have to change formats but I doubt it. I have a older version of PS and I do this all the time especially working on genealogy.
Hope this helps. Any questions, feel free to write.
