OK, the video is up on my blog. I had to do it in 3 parts, and I also included how to load the tape.

GREAT videos, Scrappin' Janny! I watched all three. I especially appreciated the part where you told us what can go wrong, how to fix and how to not repeat the mistake ourselves. Real world advice, I love it!

I know that in the past, 3M was replacing ATG's or sending parts to fix that very error. I'm not sure if they are still doing it though. Does anyone else know?

Don't know what 3M is doing about customers who are having problems with their ATGs but it wouldn't hurt to call their Customer Service Dept. I think the name of the poor woman who had the job of getting the defective 714 replaced for the customer is Barb. I also talked to a guy. Both of these people where very helpful. My experience with 3M is that they want a happy customer. A product that does what it is designed to do is what the buyer wants and 3M seems to understand that this is the best advertising.

got an email yesterday saying that they shipped my New Pink ATG gun...yippie!!! I can't wait to get it! I want to see the difference between my red one & this pink one. Whenever my friend comes over to create with me we won't have to take turns waiting for the 1 gun, I'll let her use the red one or the pink one...whatever one is closer to her, hee, hee!!!

I am also anxious to hear the difference. I don't have either gun yet, although I already got the tape order in! I am anxious to find out if the pink gun feels as sturdy, and where other compromises were made. For instance, does the 714 have metal gears where the pink gun has plastic? That kind of thing. I'd like to see a really good comparison. I need to buy one or the other soon!

missing tape

Hi,

I Ordered a Pink ATG Gun and was impatiently waiting for the gun to come. When Micheal's got the Pink Gun in, I got it. I had hope to keep one and give one as a Christmas gift. Last week I opened the box from Micheal's and found only ONE role of tape. The box states there should be 2 roles. I decided not to make waves and keep the gun for myself and give the other one as a gift. The Micheal's I got the tape from is 25-30 away and it will be a week or two before I go to Brookfield again.

Monday my other ATG gun came in the mail. It also came in a box, not bubble wrap like my first gun a number of years ago. I opened the box and found only one role of tape. The same type of box, picture, writing, etc. Only one role of tape.

I don't think there would be two roles of tape on one box. Am I wrong? Would that not be too much for the gun to handle?

Since each of the ATG guns only have one role of tape "free" tape, I am now very unhappy. Before I email the co. or go back to Micheal's, I would like to if this happen to anyone else or am I miss reading the box. Are there 2 roles of tape on one role? The Micheal's I got the gun from is 25-30 min away. Before I go and make a fool of myself, I want to know if I am really miss reading the box about the tape or if it is all on one role.

"Free" tape, as we all know, is factored into the cost of the gun. Nothing is free.

If I am really missing two roles, I will do something about it, return the item to Micheal's and ask for another role, email the company I ordered the tape from and if I receive no satisfaction form either, email the Scotch Co. If others have had this happen, I will start with the Scotch co. since they might be miss labeling their boxes, or not packaging their boxes correctly.

Thanks

Betty

I am a fool

Sorry for any problems I may have caused.

There are 2 roles in the tape box. I only opened the big pink box and I expected to see 2 small boxes with tape and not one box with 2 roles in it.

I am sorry for any problems I may have caused. i did not want to damage the pink boxes in case I wanted to exchange them and therefore did not open the tape box.

I am the fool.

Received my Pink ATG gun yesterday & it is the size & same design as the Red ATG, I don't see any difference between the two. Does anyone else have the pink & the red, do you see any differences??? I luv it as much as my red one & it's a welcome addition to my tools when I have someone over to craft with me & we don't have to take turns waiting for the glue gun. Yippie!!!

Well, you're not alone, Betty! I did the same exact thing....went to pick up my Pink ATG @ Michael's today on my lunch half-hour. They very kindly offered to hold one for me yesterday after leaving me on hold for 20 minutes while they searched their store to find them.....but when I got back into my car and opened the box to see my new best friend, I found only one box of tape! Since the outside clearly stated TWO rolls of refills, I went back in to see if one had fallen out ~ or at least insist on my TWO rolls...fortunately, the checker had the good sense to actually OPEN the tape box and noticed that both rolls were in there! Was my face RED!

Soooooo looking forward to loading it and trying it out tonight. I go thru at least a dozen red Pritt refills a month, so this should save me quite a bit of $$!

Can anyone please help me? I have gone over and over this site and cannot find where the UPC number is listed again. I read it twice earlier and now feel crazy that I can't find those messages. My hope is to be able to call my M's and ask them to check. I'm ready for the 20 min hold or the rude salesperson....just want a gun! Thanks in advance

Hi! If you call Mike's, you'll have better luck with the SKU #....I tried the UPC code and got nowhere, but once I had the SKU ~ viola! They could put that in their inventory database and see if they had any.

The number I used is: 156893.

Good luck!

Called my local M and they said they had several. Sure enough, took a short ride, walked into the store and had two pink ATG guns within seconds. My M had 10, including mine. Used a 40% coupon and each gun came to $23._ _. Immediately loaded it once home and had to try it out. I've never used one before so it will take a little to get used to it. I read in earlier posts about some of the tape rolls being defective. It was mentioned that the rolls appeared to not be tightly rolled. I hope this isn't going to be a problem for the ones I got in my package. The rolls seem rather loosely rolled compared to the smaller refillable ones by Kokuyo I'm used to using, the Tape N Rollers. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I have no problems. I look forward to many many years of trouble free usage, and lots of savings!!!

Are the spools of tape smaller in the Pink one? Or do the original ones fit in the pink one as well. Thought I read somewhere that the red ones hold 60 yards or something like that and the pink one is a lot less. Anyone know???

Thank You
I have one on hold for me at Michael's to pick up tomorrow ... so excited!!!!
Just wondering if the ATG tape holds like the scor tape for making boxes etc.
Or do I have to keep scor tape on hand as well?

You still need Scor-Tape, that stuff is like super glue in a strip! The ATG adhesive is not nearly that strong, though adequate for most purposes.

I still use Scor-Tape for ruching ribbon and boxes, stuff like that.

Okay, so this is really out there, but I am in love with dot glue tape...I wonder if there is a possibility of an ATG gun coming out with a dot tape refill any time soon? It seems so much easier to adhere things cut with my cricut and pieces die cuts...not as much webbing to deal with!
