Hi. Sorry if this has already been posted. I haven't been able to be online lately. (Had a new baby boy Zachary)
But... Picasa is available in a beta version for Mac. Yay! Finally! So for you Mac users who were looking for a free program to put watermarks on it's here.
I just decided to download this and I can't figure out how to put a watermark on. While following the directions provided, I can't find the "Preferences" button. Have you used it?
Sounds like you are using the iPhoto Picasa plugin. To the best of my knowledge, it does not allow for watermarks.
I am using the standalone Picasa for Mac (beta) application. It runs separately from iPhoto. I have it on my computer, but don't use it very often - I'm just used to iPhoto. It's free as well.

Did I download the wrong thing? Is there a website for that one? I thought the one I downloaded was the beta version.

Web Albums uploader is just a plugin that connects to iPhoto that uploads your photos to your Google/Picasa Web albums.
Go to http://picasa.google.com/mac/ again and look for this image. The file you download should be called:picasamac.dmg
After you download it, double-click and drag the icon into your applications folder to install. Then open it, look for the preferences and you will see the watermark.
However, the watermark feature isn't that awesome. So before you go through all the above, check out what the watermark option looks like:

Seriously?? It's just text ove the photo??? I could do that in Apple Works. I'm looking for something that looks engravedish. Or distorts the picture where the text is.

Btw, I really appreciate all of your help!!
Yea, that's what I thought. I don't mess around with watermarks too much, but if I did I would use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Have you searched for watermark on here? I'm sure there might be some other helpful suggestions!

I'm a new Mac owner and have been wondering about the watermark issue (I was used to Google's Picasa on my old PC). If the only option is the basic text as shown in the sample, then I'll have to search some more as I, too, like a fancier mark with flourishes, designs, etc.
