I am wondering if anyone remembers a pearl paint that came in very small pots . It was not PearlX, it was a translucent paint that you painted over your already colored cards. It came in many colors and just gave a shimmery look. I want to say the name was something like Pretty Petals maybe? It also came in metallic colors. Is there any product like this now? Thank you
Somewhere in the back of my brain is a product like you're referring to, but it's not coming into my head right now. However, bjeans enabled me into some Artist Loft Pearlescent Paints from Michael's, and I've been very happy with them. Cheap, too, and on sale right now...
no, they were round small pots and had beautiful colors, very sheer and when you painted on top of your finished card they were dazzling. One year I did a wreath and when I finished using my markers I painted the pearl on top and you could see the difference. I did not have to mix powders and that product goes back to the mid 90's

 I don’t have the Pearlescent. But I do have/love Artist Loft’s 36-pan watercolor set. Plural. And enjoy them as much, just differently than artist grade watercolors.
To the OP, if you google on “pearlescent glaze card making” a bunch pop up, in case it doesn’t ring a bell for anyone.
Would you be thinking of Radiant Pearls? A number were very translucent but many could be used on their own (and yes, I still have a drawer full of little pots which I need to check if they are still usable).
I have a drawer full of Radiant Pearls that have hardly been used. I just kept buying them because of the gorgeous colors. Now I don't even remember how to use them & putting them over a colored image doesn't ring a bell. If they're useable, I will try that. I do know they said to put it onto an old CD & not use it directly from the little pot. This could be fun or could be a disaster--LOL!
Does Wink of Stella do a similar job? I love using it over my images that have been coloured with alcohol markers. Wishing you luck on finding a product that works for you. Jutta
Twinkling H2Os have both solid colours and some that are called "Frost" colours and those ones would probably go over your already coloured cards. Here's their website:
I have many little pots of Radiant Pearls and they are perfectly fine! Apparently they will never dry out....maybe should start a thread/group and remember how to use these beautiful paints! Company went out of business many years ago...sadly. I do have a bunch of notes in a binder though... wonder how much info remains on the web? Such an unusual product and so lovely!
I would love to see some ideas & refreshers about ways to us the Twinkling H2O's. I have about 25 of them & have never really figured it out. lol
Squirt a little water into the pot(s) of Twinkling H20s you want to use. Wait five minutes, and then use as you would any water colors. I learned this in a class many, many moons ago. I have a lot of these and still use them.

I just wet my brush and then dab it on the H2O. You can add more or less water, as you wish, but with just using a drop at a time, your paints will dry nicely for storage and not mold.
I like to stamp an image in Versamark, then heat emboss (gold metallic, black, or clear would be my best choices), then paint in the H2Os. Like on this card:
While I was googling something yesterday, I saw a bottle of Smooch and had wondered if it was that that you had been referring to. I guess not.
I LOVE my Smooch inks! I wish they'd kept on making them in new colors. So darned convenient to use, with the applicator in the bottle top, like nail polish, kind of.

Mostly I use my gold ones, but in fact any of them are great for spattering.
Contrapat mentions the heat-embossing helps keep the colours where you want them - I think it also helps because the paints are quite opaque so if you paint over a plain stamped image with them, it dulls the outlines, whereas the heat-embossing pretty much acts as a resist to the water and keeps the outlines crisp.
They're great to use for colouring die-cuts, especially if you use watercolour paper.
That's what I used to spatter on this card - just wet the paint enough, load a brush with it and swipe it against your finger.
I too have some. A few have leaked or almost clear, but several are in great shape. I too remember the AOL discs being my pallette. I am getting back into stamping again and I am going to try. I don't remember can you actually stamp with them or just stamp, emboss then paint. The colors are still amazing! Thank you all for any insights to using these little Radiant Pearls!
