OMG, I have a BIA. completely forgot I did. This is awful.Other major shouldn't have bought -- some weird embossing powder that looks like have shiny death on a card!
Hands down, best investment was the japanese book drill. I got it at bonnie's best years ago. Has interchangeable sized bits. I can't find the bits, but I know they are "in there" somewhere!

Glad to hear all the positive things about the Scor-Pal/Scor It. I keep thinking, "Why would I need this thing?" Sounds like everyone is happy they have one!
The most recent purchase that I have made and was pleasantly surprised is the Quickstick - the quicker-poker-picker-upper! It really works well! I use it to get my pendant dies out and for small rhinestones.
My Crop-a-dile and eyelets are collecting dust as we speak!! And all those Prima Flowers that I just had to buy in all those colors - just collecting dust now that I have a Wizard and all those nestabilities.
Debbie, who makes the Quickstick? I was thinking today when I was adding a bunch of tiny rhinestones to a card that one of those might come in handy if they work, but I can't remember who makes it.
Thanks!

Yep, its by Quickutz. I was really pleasantly surprised about how much I use this tool!!
I don't have the Quickstick tool but in a pinch to get something I will use a glue dot at the end of a pen and just put the glue dot over some clothing a bit to take off most of the sticky.
nothing scientific here...just which tool did you buy and then really surprised you because you used it so often
Actually, I should use it more, but, one tool I really was impressed with, that got very little notice or accolades was the Rol-Tap by Clearsnap! I think it has been since discontinued, :( but, it was a rather handy gadget for making quick plaid or striped effects!

Most used:
Score-It and/or Score-Pal (yes, I have both)
Big Kick/Dies
Punches (corners & borders mostly)
All colorants
Collecting Dust:
Janome Sew Mini lemon
Crop-a-Dile
Fastenator
Melting Pot (never been opened) and accessories. <---Fortunately they were all bought on sale or were giftss.
Radiant Pearls: I don't have the patience to let them dry.

The Quickstick thingy is pretty much the same thing just more convenient cause its ready to use when you pick it up! Great idea, though!
I can't live without my paper piercer and Mat Pack. So small, but such a mighty tool! On the other hand, I finally broke down and bought a Xyron 510 machine and used it once. I just don't see what folks see in it; it doesn't add anything to my crafting except take up space. I'd use my Crop-a-Dile more if I could find someone to teach me how to use it!
I'm totally with Angelnorth - I recently got a Crop-A-Dile after being very reluctant to buy one. I have small hands and I found it very unwieldy and a tad scary when I tried it out at a class years ago. I recently attended a class where we made bookmark cards and the CAD made the hole for the ribbon through 6 layers of CS, most impressive! So I got one and I LOVE it.
Like Angelnorth I also bought the CAD Corner Chomper and I LOVE that too - it's great for rounding all 4 corners of a card. My other corner rounders were only strong enough to handle one piece of CS at a time so I couldn't round the corners where the card fold was.
These two tools totally surprised me at how well they work. I am kicking myself that I didn't get a CAD sooner. I have bought so many corner rounder punches in the past and had frustrations with so many of them but I'm delighted with my Corner Chomper.
My one tool that gathers dust is probably my Xyron 510 machine. But there is nothing like it for adhering vellum or fabric so I'm happy to keep it. I just don't use it very often but I wouldn't part with it.
Fave surprises:
ATG gun: NOTHING sticks like this. My cards no longer fall apart!!
Cricut Expression: Amazing. Use it ALL the time!!
Scor-Pal
Tonic paper trimmer: FINALLY, a paper trimmer that works!!
Gathering dust:
Decorative scissors: I keep them for the kids now.
Twinkling H2O's: When I heard they were going out of business, I spent $60 on 3 sets which I haven't used much. Maybe I will pull them out and give them another try
Wouldn't be without
Big Shot
Scor Pal
Nesties
Bind It All (and my friends love me when I let them use mine)
Fiskars rotary cutter and fancy blades, especially the deckle one
Crop-a-dile
Gathering dust
Fancy scissors
Eyelet setter
Coluzzle templates (and I'm sure they're great but Nesties are so much easier)
A 'clever' little variable word stamp where you spin the wheels to set up a letter in each position to make your word of choice. I thought it would be great but the letters are too small to see and clear stamps are much easier.
Got a few new things which I've bought and haven't tried yet. I won't say they're gathering dust because they're still in their bags so the dust can't touch them

Can't live without:
ATG tape gun
bone folder
Cricut expression
clear detail embossing powder (sticks to wet ink of ANY color)
piercer and template
Collecting dust:
Cropadile big bite (I just keep squishing the eyelets with it, maybe i'm using it wrong?)
decorative scissors
colored embossing powders (except for the metallics)
SU stamp wheels
Fiskars embossing kit (the one with the stencils and the stylus) I actually use the texture plates with my cuttlebug.
Now I want:
Scor-pal
quick-stick (I may try to MacGyver one)
Keep em coming!

Lorrinda now I want a quickstick as well but I can't figure out where to buy it. Anyone have any sources for where to get it? Joann and Mike's didn't have it, nor did Hobby Lobby or Scrapbooking Alley
I love this thread! Makes me feel like part of the sisterhood of collectors of supplies...
I couldn't do without my Score-Pal, and I really didn't think I would use it. Now I don't make a card with out it. Same goes for Stamp-a-ma-jig.
Some things I should really clean out are pearl-ex (just very disappointed in the effect), flocking, foam stamps, and texture plates.

I got mine at Archivers. I would guess you could probably find them on ebay too. I love mine--totally worth the $5 or $6 they cost.
Now what I have that's gathering dust (how much space do we have?)
Biggest disappointment - Rollograph stamp press - OMG, I can't believe how useless this thing is! I bought it because of a wonderful review in VSN
Others in no particular order:
Encaustic wax stuff-
TONS of Embossing powder
Twinkling H2O's - like them but forget to use them
Score-it - I don't like mine. The first one scored crooked and they sent me a new one but still don't use it much
Wizard - hate the ratcheting
Dutch Clip punches
Fibers (aka yarn)
Fastenator - like others I love the look at times but can never get them in the right spot
Decorative corner punches (really almost all my punches)
Hot pot- UTTE
Just Rite monogram stamp- Just Rite stamps - always catch an edge, they aren't very deep etched rubber and I don't have problems with other stamps, just these
Iridescent inks - those kind that are supposed to show up on dark cardstock...see I said supposed to!
paperclay - other clays and pasta maker - fun for a while but to much work and take to long
I think that's enough, if I was in my stamp room, I'm sure I could find more!
I'm sure if I was in my stamp room, I find other things too
I'm seeing a pattern here...the things people like work well and are easy to use and versatile. Those that aren't people don't use and go 'out of style' quickly.
