Does anyone know if I don't have SU craft ink and just the classic pads, could I still use the brayer on the ink pad then on the chipboard. Like would it stay on, is the color just less vibrant?

It stays on and you are right, it probably isn't as vibrant. I don't own craft pads and I have colored several chipboard pieces by sponging on the ink.

Classic Ink will not appear as "true" to color as the Craft Pigment Ink. The reason is that the Classic Dye Ink will absorb into the chipboard, thus, becoming distorted somewhat by the color of the chipboard itself. On the other hand, Craft Pigment ink tends to "sit on top" of the chipboard, giving a "true" color to the project when dry. ;)
