Default Ok, I caved and bought a ....

BIA! Went to the RS convention in Collinsville, IL yesterday and spent my Christmas bonus $$$ that I had been saving (yes, since Christmas! ;-) ) on a Bind It All machine. I know there are some places online selling it for a little less but then there is shipping. So, at Marco's Paper I bought the BIA for $59.99 and they throw in a "trial pack" sampler of binding wires in several sizes (which is a nice feature!) AND I didn't have to pay for shipping! Inside the bonus sampler pack was a 25% off future binding wire purchases so they let me use that at the time of purchase. Well, actually....I forgot to ask until afterward and the owner was so apologetic about forgetting it (and probably also embarrassed that they couldn't get their CC processing working) that she said told me to just go grab a pack of whichever coils I wanted and call it square. Well, all righty then! I also bought the instruction book with project samples, etc. Seemed like a good idea to me. I KNOW that it comes with instructions but not pictures of samples and instructions on doing them.

So, for $88 I got the BIA,(59.99) the $14.95 instruction book, 3 packs of coils ($5.95 each) and the freebie sampler pack. I'm thinking that I did ok! Looking back, I'm not sure that she actually charge me for everything....but I did say, "does that include the packs of coils?" (which I had on the table with the BIA and book) and she said yes so I paid her and was happy with my new toys!

Now to find some cool BIA projects!!!! Jan

I caved 2 days ago too, but I bought a cuttlebug. I could justify not getting it because I have seen the current folders used a lot, but then I looked at the preorder stuff and went nuts! I know I can't use it in my SU demos but all my friends have one........ heehee

I love your Bind It All samples, Lisa. Very nice!

Oooo, I think I'm catching the Bind It All bug. I wonder where the best place would be to buy it in Canada?

I got a BIA for my birthday in November and I still haven't used it. How sad is that! Off to check Lisa's blog.

Of course my Bug has sat in the closet since Christmas too. I did use it a lot before I got my cricut though.

Lisa, you are not going to believe this but just about the time you posted this I was viewing the different ideas for hostess gifts/doorprizes in the SUB and saw one of your projects (a BIA color book, I think) which of course led me to click on the link to your blog for directions and from there I was lost in paradise! Wow, what awesome projects and such wonderful tutorials!!! I am in IL too and found myself wondering how long it would take me to drive to Manhattan just so I could join in your classes! I also saw your "class in the mail" option...but how much more fun would it be to attend class in person! Jan

Thanks everyone for your kind words on my BIA projects. Jan - I think it may be quite a ride for you to come up and take a class - but I'll see you in SLC!

Wow Lisa.....I love your color selector book. I'm sure that's not the name of it. A BIA is definately not anywhere in my near future, but I absolutely love that idea!! Now if I can just remember it. hehehe Maybe I could put one together and take it somewhere and have it bound. Did you just put the colors in there by color family, or another specific order?

Jan....what convention was that and do they have it there every year? I am near Springfield and we used to have a board meeting every year at the Holiday Inn right by the convention center there...I remember one time seeing a sign on the center saying they had a scrapbooking event or something there.

I haven't used my bind-it-all much but recently made a little booklet with it. It's potentially very fun!

I'm one of the fortunate ones who lives close to Marco's paper STORE! Yes, it is my favorite local hang-out! The owners and staff are super! Anyway, I was just checking out their website, and it does have their "convention" schedule on it, and so EVERYONE can see where they will be next.
I don't know how to make this a link (sorry) but just copy and paste:
www.marcopaper.com.

Thanks! I did put them in by color family - but in the order they have in the SU for easy reference.

I bought a Provocraft Punch And Bind ........ Is it worth it to get the Bind it All instead? Does Marco carry the binding for the punch and bind or does anyone know where I can get bindings for that? Thanks!

I loved the samples!

DH bought me one for mother's day and I love it. Haven't made a whole lot with it yet because I've been really busy with my other job, but I have lots of ideas for things to make this summer.

I just got a BIA this evening from my DH for my birthday, but he says I'm "not allowed" to use it until my birthday! (Did I mention my birthday isn't until August 11?)

I've flipped all the calendars in the house to August. Do you think he'll be fooled when he wakes up tomorrow and sees them? heehee

Kelly,

Hi, I think it is every year in Collinsville. Here is a web link. I went this year and really enjoyed it! And like inkerzaway, I got a BIA from Marco Paper this year too!

My job has a BIA for "special" projects. LOL! I think my craft projects qualify for "special". Luckily no one there minds if I use it every now and then.

I had my BIA for almost a year.... and never used it. (gasp!) But then I saw Angie's tutorial today at (www.chicnscratch.typepad.com) and I had to try it... soon after I was reading forums in the General Stamping talk and saw someone elses blog and so I dug out my BIA and I did both projects ...and loved it... HOW on EARTH did I EVER not use that thing??! Still amazes me. Hehe since I did that this afternoon I've been looking for things to bind...

I got mine at Marco's too so I get 25% off any coils I purchase with my little card.

I love my BIA. I've been making books like crazy, for my kids teachers, family, anybody.

The BIA is the best invention ever! I LOVE IT!

Zutter released a new improved Bind-it-all at CHA. It can punch wider books and allegedly makes it easier to line stuff up.

I wish I could recall where I saw the info so I could share it.
