Default new style punches from SU ?

I'm wondering if these new style punches cut through the heavy SU cardstock? I have one from a similar style from EK success and they do not punch through the heavy cardstock. Thanks for any input.

I just got EkSuccess's Arrow border punch on sale at Michaels. It looks to be essentially the same as SU's new Pinking Hearts border punch. I'm returning it since it doesn't work very well with card stock. It takes a lot of effort, it's hard to line up and the punched result has fuzzy areas. The punch housing and handle are all plastic. Is the SU one any better?

My take on border punches is that the simpler they are, the better they work, unless you're using lighter weight paper and not card stock.

We used the new punch that is in the SAB catty Tuesday night at our Stamping Club and it worked fine. I have a couple of these from EK and MS and no problems. Well MS do not seem to be as good of quality.

I have several of the new EK punches in the new design and don't have any issue with punching through cardstock.
I love the new punch design - a great space saver!

I have not had a problem with the MS punches on PTI cs, it takes a little more effort to punch but it does punch well. I have not tried an EK or the NEW SU punches & won't buy themtill I know that they will work on PTI cs...I LOVE my PTI & now Gina K cs. I still buy the SU cs as well...what can I say I love variety!

I saw those in the SU catty, too, and they look so similar to the EK. I got an EK border punch from Michaels when they first came in, and it chewed up every piece of cardstock and DP I tried with it. Returned it. I tried wax paper and foil b4 returning. Could have been a dud but I'm hesitant to try again or the SU ones, until I read more reports

...I'm trying to improve my border punch skills, but I never get the ends to be the same. Found this thread, cause I was searching for "trick for border punch" LOL Lisa

I just punched the Scallop Trim Border punch (from the SU SAB catalog) through PTI cs and it went through like a charm - easy peasy!

I was excited to see the new style punches - what a space saver. I would even love to trade in the old style for all new replacements. Thinking that will not be an option.
