Question new,sortof, I have a question.

Hi, I have come to this site primarily to look at all the wonderful creations people have made and displayed. I am not too knowledable about the whole posting thing but will give it a try. I have a question-Does anyone know if you are able to use the cuttlebug dies in a sizzix machine? I have used the embossing folder along with my adapter and that works beautifully. Thank you in advance for your replys.:-D

Hi! I don't have an answer for you except to point you to another forum called Tools and Product Talk. You can also do a search for cuttlebug and sizzix. Hope this helps a little!

I have had lots of success using cuttlebug cutters and embossers in my old fashioned sizzix machine

I use cuttlebug dies and folders in my original Sizzix all the time, you just have to use the magnetic converter with it. HTH

I have the old, big Sixxiz machine. I have been thinking about selling it and buying a Cuttlebug because I like their embossing folders. But this sounds like I can use it with the folders. Is this true? I can use the old machine, not the sidekick, with the embossing folders from Cuttlebug?

Thanks for any help!

Absolutely, you can use it in the original Sizzix. You would need their converter block, though. You may find that you just have to experiment, too. You may need to add a piece of cardstock or two as shims to get the right amount of pressure to get good embossing. It just depends on your machine. It'll definitely work though!

Thumbs up It works!

I too have the big "old" Sizzix (and still love it). I've used Cuttlebug dies and embossing folders and even some Quickutz. You definitely need the magnetic system converter. I also use the little plastic Sizzix adapter. It's black and is similar to a Cuttlebug die, just without the die or foam. The whole trick is to "shim" the die until you get the right pressure. I've found that every die is a little different, you just have to experiment. If you have trouble finding the stuff you need, I always have good luck on E-bay. Good luck!!
