Default New Prisma Colored Pencils

Just wondering if anyone else has ordered or bought the new colors of the Prisma Colored Pencils. I just couldn't resist. It isn't in the budget but, the name's of the colors just made me have to have them. If you do have your's, did I make the right choice by buying them?

Are you referring to the 12 new colors that they came out with in 2005? Or have they come out with new colors again? I only see the the ones from 2005 on their website and those colors are: beige sienna, chesnut, chocolate, putty beige, ginger root, peach beige, sky blue light, powder blue, muted turquoise, pale sage, kelp green, and green ochre.

I collect/hoard many stamping/scrapbooking products (pattern paper, stamps, ribbon) but have found that having too many makes deciding what to use too difficult. With the pencils I chose just to buy the ones that match the SU color families and so I probably won't buy any new ones.

Which set matches the SU colors? I haven't purchased any Prismas yet but am tempted!

Yes, they just came out with new colors in September.
Artichoke is one I really like. There is the new Caribbean Sea too!

Go to www.dickblick.com and look under prisamacolor pencils to see a list of all the current colors.

I have them but haven't worked with them yet. The shipping was so outrageous I ordered a second set just to justify the shipping. How sick is that?

A new set? Even the Prismacolor.com site doesn't list anything new since 2005.

If you go here:

http://www.dickblick.com/zz205/08/

It's the colors numbered 1092 to 1103. From what I understand they will come in the box of 132 but otherwise you have to buy them separately. They came out sometime in August.

Actually, I bought the new colors in a tin of 12 from, I believe, ASW Express. I can't remember now, it wasn't a place I'd dealt with before but they were good.

The new colors look beautiful! I haven't gotten them yet (hadn't seen them before), but now that I have, I know I will. So I guess I'm with you on this one...taking a chance... but they do look awesome!

Believe it or not I bought the 12 new colors in a tin at my M's with a coupon. It seems not all the M's have the new ones. I think they were $15 before the Coupon. If anyone is interested I will look and see how many they have left.

artmedia.com is another site that has them. $10.59 and 6.99 S&H. They are local for me so I was going to call them and see what their store price was. The new colors look yummy and You can ALWAYS use more green, blue and flesh tones.

Bought them at Micheals several weeks ago and used a 40% coupon(tin of 12), altho they are still unsharpened, but look nice. Also there was a coupon in the tin to send away for a free set of "lightfast colored pencils". Don't have them yet, tho. Linda

Artichoke looks closer to certainly celery than the lime peel I've been using. Is it closer? Anybody know? That's my favorite color.
Thanks!

more enabling links........................

There is an ebay seller that has open stock and great prices on pencils individually with low shipping - http://stores.ebay.com/A-Rainbow-of-Colored-Pencils - the shipping starts at $1.50 then it's just .05 per pencil.

Also if you order through www.dickblick.com, link to them through www.ebates.com first and you can get a 6% rebate on your order.

Is there a way to know what the new colors are at Micahels? Does the tin have a different picture on it?

Thanks so much for the heads-up on Mike's carrying the new colors in a tin - with the 40% off coupon, how can anyone say no?

Be careful ladies at Michaels. I just got home from purchasing what said it was "new colors" for a set of 12 and they aren't the colors you are listing. This one has Beige Sienna, Chestnut marron, chocolate, putty beige, ginger root, peach beige, sky blue light, powder blue, muted turquoise, pale sage, kelp green, and green ochre. They are pretty colors, but not the ones you are all talkign about and I already opened the tin,. Oh well, guess I have these colors now too. I did get to use a 40% off coupon at least.

Just did some online research and found out that I purchased the new 2005 colors so make sure and check the back of the box for the names. I didn't have these so no big deal, but I wanted the other ones too. Now to go back out tomorrow night after work and look for those. thank god for duplicate 40% coupons.

I copied this from another post a while back. Here are the new colors from the last 2 years:

There were 12 new ones summer of 2005. These replaced the deco and metallic and are in the current set of 120.These colors are:

-Chocolate PC1082
-Putty Beige PC1083
-Ginger Root PC1084

-Sky Blue Light PC1086
-Powder Blue PC1087
-Muted Turquoise PC1088
-Pale Sage PC1089
-Kelp Green PC1090
-Green Ochre PC1091

There are 12 new colors coming out later this summer that will NOT replace any colors-they are additional and will go into the 132 set when it is available. The date that I heard for this release was August 2006. These colors are:
-Nectar PC1092
-Seashell Pink PC1093
-Sandbar Brown PC1094
-Black Raspberry PC1095
-Kelly Green PC1096
