Default nestabilities with the wizard

ok i finally got my rectangles, i was super excited to try them out and consistent with all of my wizard experience it was not love at first use. i'm using the charm embossing kit tan mat (not the tan mat that came with the wizard but i did try that one too). so white plate, tan mat, su card stock, nestability ridge side down and the other white plate. and every time it practically cuts right thru, i just want the embossed rectangle. what am i doing wrong??? i've searched and searched for the right sandwich but i can't seem to find anyone using these with the wizard.... help.

I use the Wizard. To cut the die - bottom to top: 1. White spacer plate on top of the White Emboss Mat (one of the thick white mats). 2. The die ridged side facing UP on top of the spacer plate. 3. Paper on top of the die. 4. White Cut Mat (the other thick white mat on top of the paper.

To emboss the die cut shape: 1. Place the die ridge side UP on the White Emboss Mat. 2. Place your already cut shape within the ridges of the die. 3. Layer the Tan Emboss Pad over the shape (not the charm emboss pad). 4. Place the White Cut Mat on top to finish your embossing sandwich.

Do you label one of your white mats "Emboss," and the other one, "Cut." ?

Remember, die is always ridge side UP for both processes. HTH.

Sorry I misunderstood you...I have no idea how to do what you're wanting to do, but maybe someone else will?

rachnett, try this link: http://www.spellbinders.us/ct/store/...wich%20Recipes. It is the Spellbinders's site and they tell you the order of the "sandwich".

Or try Ellen Hutson's blog and look around the Sept. 15, 2007 entry for info: http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/ellen...ers/index.html.

Good luck!

Molly's emboss instructions are exactly what I do. From the bottom up, thick white plate, die w/ ridges up, CS/cardfront, tan mat, thick white plate. Give it a try - if it doesn't work for you, PM me and I will see how else to help!

Also try this link for a user group on Yahoo that provides lots of help and useful files (there is a section just for recipes):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Spellbinders-Wizard/

According to their files the embossing recipe is the white emboss mat then the spacer plate with the card wrapped around it and the die (face up). The tan polymer mat goes on top of this and then the white cut mat. I know I get a deeper impression if I spritz the cardstock with water first.

Hope this helps!

Happy Crafting!
