Default Nestabilities - Petite or Classic Scallops???

Hi everyone,

Well, lucky me got a Big Shot for Christmas (I am TOO excited) and so my belated Christmas present to myself is going to be some nestabilities - I have been wanting them for ages! I'm planning on getting a package of four sets (either the circles/scallop circles or the ovals/scallop ovals) and I have to decide whether to go with the Classic Scallop (which is larger) or the Petite Scallop.

I have been looking in the gallery, but it seems that all the cards I find are using the Classic Scallop. Can anyone point me towards some cards using the Petite Scallop (either circles or ovals).

Here are my thoughts so far:
- I *think* i prefer the size of the classic scallop, but having not really seen petite scallops in use it's hard to tell
- I prefer the embossing on the petite scallop circles
- I prefer the shape of the petite ovals (more appropriate for sentiments)
- I would like to get the same scallop type in both circles and ovals in the event that I want use them both on the same card.

Any comments/suggestions/pointers would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks in advance,
Sheila

I've been contemplating which oval set to get. If I understand it correctly, the Petite Ovals are narrow, where the Regular Ovals are wider.

Personally I think I am going to get the Petites. The scallops are smaller and there are more around the oval.

If you look in the gallery and do a search with petite ovals you may get some ideas.

Good call on the "search the gallery" suggestion. I had searched before, but just for "nestabilities" and it seemed all the cards that came up were the classic scallop. I searched again, based on your idea, and have a whole bunch of petite scalloped examples! So thanks so much!

Red face

I've been buying the small sets each month just because the whole set is too expensive for me now. First I got the large classic ovals and the next month the large classic scallopped ovals.

THEN, I made a mistake and ordered the PETITE ovals. The petites do NOT coordinate with the other ones I have. I should have gotten the small classic ovals and small classic scallopped ovals.

The Petites are nice and I decided I like them. (LOL!) So I did not return them but they ARE narrower and more elongated than what I thought I was buying.

I hope that makes sense to you. Don't know if I explained it very well.

Default My Vote-is Petite

I have the Petites and do not fele the need for the Classic as well; would rather go with a different shape.

I am planning to stay with the petite scallops all the way. They seem to fit with the design shape of cards of all sizes without looking too large so as to take away from the stamped image.

Just my opinion...
Good Luck!

I really can't imagine getting the petite scalloped circles...when I use the smaller of the classic scallops, I always think it starts to look more like a small wavy border instead of scallops.

The only nesties I don't have are the petite scalloped circles and the petite ovals....though I have the ovals on my list purely because the longer shape will work better with some of my images/sentiments.

It's all a matter of personal preference though...some like the tinier more subtle look, and some like the bigger loopy look. And sometimes it's the card that decides.

I have the petite scalloped circles and I have used them a lot. If you visit my gallery or my blog you will find lots of cards with them.

But I also wanted the classis scallops, so I ordered a set of these too. I haven't made a card with them yet, but it is like cjbapp says: it depends on the card and your personal preference what you "need".

Smile Thank you!!!

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions - they have been VERY helpful.

After an afternoon of browsing through the gallery, I realized that while I liked quite a few of the cards using the petite scallops, everytime I thought to myself "I think I'd be happy with the petite scallops", I'd get a big "but" feeling and realize I really, really, really prefer the look of the classic scallops. So classic scallops it is.

For now at least - let's be honest, I'll start with these and it's probably only a matter of time before I collect them all!

Thanks again!
Sheila
