Red face Need A Shot....

Need a Big Shot that is! LOL! Sadly, last night I had to say "last rites" to my Cuttlebug:(. I didn't think I had used it that much but it was simply this, using a Nestability and cutting only 2 pieces of SU cardstock at one time.... blew the side off of my bug, set the gears out of alignment (I could see this because the side came off) and it now has unequal pressure - cutting on only one side! How the heck did that happen?! I have NO clue why either! I wonder if it heard my thoughts on "I should buy a Big Shot" and gave up the ghost?! LOL! Okay, just me being silly here but I guess I'm getting a Big Shot now! Luckily my DH and DD were actually in my room at the time it happened (rarity in itself there!) I know I can get a good deal on one through SU but, is there a better deal out there right now to purchase just the big shot with the cutting/embossing boards that go with it?! We're about to pay a landscaper big bucks for redoing our front and to plant some trees for us so I need a good deal!! Thanks for any tips in advance!!:-D

I don't know much about the big shot, but before you give up on the cuttlebug, you might want to call Provo Craft. They stand by their products better then any other company I know, and if you explain to them what happened, you might find yourself with a new cuttlebug for free... Depends on what was going on with it and why it blew up like that!

Just my 2 cents, I love my bug!!

I hava a big shot and LOVE it, of course I have a cuttle bug too but there are certain dies that just don't fit in the bug. I say go with a SU! demo and place your order, yes you may find it for a few bucks cheaper on other sites but placing the order via a SU! you will qualify for extra benefits (freebies) and you'll always get support from your demo on how to use or ideas for using your big shot. Another thing is that SU! has excusive dies that are totally cool! It's a better deal in the long run I promise! So I hope you have a local SU! demo if not go to the website and go to the demo locator for one near you.

Google 'Big Shot' and research the prices of the different stores. Santa bought mine at RitzCamera.com after I did the research (It was $67.00). At that time, free shipping was included. Another place that had a good price at the time was Scrapyland (?).

Ritz Camera as loads of crafting stuff on sale all the time. Can't hurt to check their site.

Hi Michelle,

Lucky you that you get to purchase a Big Shot! You will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I was one of those holdouts that just wasn't sure I should get one. Got it in February and have been crazy for it ever since.

I found the very best price was at RitzCamera and there service was excellent. I have since gone back to them to purchase more nesties - they have a great price on those also.

Since you were lucky enough for hubby to witness the 'blowout', I say take advantage of that bit of goodwill and go for the Big Shot! It's the most durable and versatile of all the manual die-cutting machines and can handle dies of all types and brands!

Michelle,

I believe I had done the exact same thing to my Cuttlebug. Provocraft replaced it free of charge! I only had to pay shipping to get it to them.

I know you want your Shot ... but I had to chime in.

Chiefs crafty chik....If you have an AC Moore or a Michaels near you. Take a coupon and purchase a BIGkick. Same thing as a Big Shot, just a slightly different shape and color. You'll get the necessary cutting pads with it. You'll also save a lot of money over purchasing the Big Shot with cost, tax and shipping.

LOL! I like this answer best of all! While at work today I did get in touch with a customer service rep at ProvoCraft and she said they will replace it! How awesome is that! I don't even remember when I got it. She said it was probably defective and I didn't know it! Just have to mail the old one in and they'll mail me a new one out! I can't beat that! Since my DH did say I could get a replacement with the Big Shot - I'm all over it! LOL! I'm ordering one tonight! YEAH!! Thank you all SO much for your help! I'm putting up a memorial on my blog later! LOL!

Oooh I wish I knew when my Big Shot would be here! I'm giddy with anticipation! I hate it when this sort of thing happens though don't you?! I mean, I'm in the middle of a project and think "Oh I'll pull out my cuttlebug and cut this or emboss that......shoot my Cuttlebug is broken.........." puts a damper on things :(!
