I need some help. Anyone have the misti stamp positioner? Do you like it? Where is a good place to buy and the best price? Are there others you like better? I don't want to spend $100, saw one for $64, are they worth it? I appreciate your advice.
Connie, many of us use a MISTI and love it. Here is a link to the My Sweet Petunia forum which may have a lot of information that would help you: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Also, each month there is a challenge, hosted by MISTI Monday, where a winner will win $50 to spend at My Sweet Petunia store. This goes a long way in paying for a MISTI. Also, sign up for Iliana's newsletter at her store and you may see sale codes or a sale in the store.
Yes, my MISTI has been well worth the money I spent. I have an Original size and a Card size. I use both.
I bought the regular size MISTI long ago and consider its purchase price to be "mental health money" because it has saved my sanity so many times! Restamping when necessary and production line stamping are my favorite tasks with it.
I have both the Misti and the SU Stamparatus. I like them both and do use them both. I like the Stamparatus better for putting more than one image on a piece of cardstock.
I prefer Misti. The lid lays flat on the table when opened so you don't have to prop it up to stamp like you do the stamparatus. I do use the stamparatus when I need the card to hang outside the box, but Misti is number one for me.
I love my Misti, I just have the mini for card making. Sometimes I wish I had the medium sized one. Just because I could use some of the larger stamps I have could be stamped more easily. For example I bought the concord and 9th wreath builder template, and because I have the mini it won't fit or work. The medium sized one it would work in, I believe. I would get the larger one if your a scrapbook-er though. It seems like it is a huge investment, but it totally pays for itself in the projects you don't mess up on. I was constantly not getting a good stamped image and then would have to scrap the piece of paper because it would not stamp nicely. With the Misti I can get that image really nicely inked, and I save a lot of paper with doing that. My two cents, Minnesota Stamper
Checkout this thread. The consensus is that a stamp positioning tool is a must have, although there are other brands just as good as MISTI. I already have a MISTI, but if I didn't, I wouldn't buy one because of her suing every company that has come up with a stamp positioning tool. Plus the MISTI is too expensive for what it is.

Love my MISTI, makes getting a crisp image so much more consistent. Also great when doing multiples of the same card.
I love my Stamparatous! I like the removal plates. The magnets drive me crazy. They are so strong! I use it almost every time i stamp. Lets you get great solid images.
I have a regular MISTI and a mini MISTI - I set one up for foam-backed red rubber stamps and one up for clear stamps so that I don't have to bother switching the rubber pad depending on what type of stamp I'm using. I LOVE them and would never be without them. They were a game-changer for me for all of my larger stamps and background stamps.
I bought both of them directly from My Sweet Petunia, the website of the woman who makes them -

Actually I have a Misti, and I have two of the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus. I like it MUCH better than the Misti as it is more versatile. There are two plates and they can be removed, which means you can set up to use both sides for a multi-stamp card. Also, you can move the plates down so you can stamp a column of perfectly lined up stamps.
It is more expensive than the Misti, but also much more versatile!
I’m surprised no one mentioned Tim Holtz’s machine. I have the Misti bought when it first came out but also have Tim’s . I like them both but would not buy another Misti because of the cost and because of her suing other competitors. Which ever I can’t imagine making cards without it. Tim’s is a nice size for bigger stamps! Watch for sales!
I don’t know what I’d do without my Misti. I use it daily. I rarely stamp without it. I use the creative corners all the time as well. It’s the best tool for stamping over an image that doesn’t stamp perfectly the first time. It’s also perfect for repeated stamping so you can make multiple cards the same. It’d the most valuable tool I own- bar none!
Also, LOVE my MISTI! Wait for a sale on Sweet Petunia...she often has good deals..although it's really not that expensive for such an invaluable too. Couldn't stamp without it.... I'd recommend buying the regular size first.
I bought a Tim Holtz stamp positioner and haven't been very happy with it. I just don't seem to get a great image. The 2 round magnets seem like they can't keep the paper in the same spot. Maybe buy a bar magnet. It also seems to have spots that hust don't want to stamp clearly. If I were to do it again, I would have bout the Misti instead of Tim Holtz.
I adore my MISTI and bought it when they first came out. I have the middle size which is perfect for card making. It is an amazing tool and, although expensive, 100% worth it! And that's coming from someone who had to pay shipping to Canada and deal with the poor exchange rate.
I agree, the MISTI has been one of my best investments. I have the regular one, and the large one (Memory), which I like for mass card making - one side for the outside image, and one side for a greeting and/or verse, since there's so much room. It has paid itself off easily.
I've tried other stamp positioners, but none compare to the quality or performance of the MISTI for me.
I have the regular size and the mini MISTI. I love both. I use it for most of my stamping. Perfect placement every time. Note: be careful with the magnets. They are strong and break. They are not warranted by the seller. I wrap mine in painter's tape for ease of handling.

The lawsuit was settled, but you can still find the Tonic (Tim) platform here and there - I’ve seen them on Amazon lately. Or they can be ordered from outside the U.S. Several of us on this forum bought our first ones from the U.K. before they were sold in the U.S., and since then I’ve ordered items occasionally from the U.K. Some shops there have excellent shipping prices and shipping was fast.
Caveat: The pandemic has slowed shipping to/from overseas! But I received two items from other countries (not the UK) in the last couple months, including Bulgaria. They were just delayed.
I have the regular and small Misti, and both of Tim’s platforms. I had a couple other brands too but donated and gave them away. I use both and like the small Tim because there are no edges on two sides so cardstock can hang out, the lip on the top makes lifting easy and it’s very sturdy with metal hinges - good for us CPR stampers, as Tim calls us. But the Misti is excellent too. Hinges have hairline cracks on my small one but it doesn’t affect performance at all - very smooth.

Reason: typo
I have all 3 sizes of the MISTI and use them all. I make a lot of cards larger than A2 size and most of my cards don't have anything stamped inside until I'm ready to send it to someone and that's where the Memory Misti is so useful since I can fit the entire card in it opened up. I also have the Tim Holtz stamp positioner but I get much better results with the Misti.
Yes, you can use both clear photopolymer and rubber. And the rubber can be nekkid or with cling foam.
The difference is in the fact that you use a thin foam pad (included with the MISTI) under your cardstock with photopolymer or nekkid rubber, and you take it out for rubber on cling foam.
Is there a new model coming out? Seems to be sold out most everywhere. Is the Hero Arts version exactly the same except for color scheme? Same quality?
The best place to purchase the MISTI (in my opinion) is to order it direct. Go to My Sweet Petunia retail shop. I'd give you a link but links aren't working properly right now.
As for the Hero Arts version, I'm pretty sure it is the same except for color.
