Hi Everyone! My name is Jackie and I've been paper crafting for a while. I keep trying to remember to get involved in this forum and then life gets in the way.
Anyways, I was curious if any of you have had experience with the MINC Machine and what your thoughts are? I have seen multiple youtube videos but I still can't make my mind up. I love the foiled look and there are so many foil colors to chose from now. I was thinking about buying the 6" MINC since I am primarily a card maker. I love that I can print something off my toner printer and turn it into a foiled piece.
I'm just wondering if the MINC would be the way to go or if it would be better to just get a laminator and some deco foil. It really matters to me that the results be crisp and perfect. I like distressed looks, but not with foil.
Hi, and welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to get involved. There are lots of friendly talented people here to inspire and help you!
Here is a link to a recent thread about foiling. Lots of tips and talk about using a laminator, but also some posts about the Minc. I don't have the Minc, but tried the technique with a laminator I had on hand, and liked the results. Some people have even used an iron to do this.
Just watched a demo video on the new We R Memory Keepers Heatwave tool, which is a lot cheaper. It looks like you have to have a pretty steady hand, and I'm not sure if the foil is proprietary to work with the tool or not. But it's certainly compact and portable and it looks pretty easy to use.
Wow, that is super cool! I love that you can use it with stencils since I have a pretty decent amount of stencils. It looks like a lot of work though haha.
I think the minc machine would be easier but then I'd have to get a laser printer too, so I stopped watching the foiling videos so I wouldn't drool! LOL. I have an ink jet printer but that won't work with foiling. I do have some foil, so I may try the iron. I used it with glue and it worked, but not the smoother look you get with the minc.
I was reading that other thread that was linked and it seems that everyone who has the MINC was really happy with the results. I think I am going to take the plunge! I enjoy designing simple typography on the computer and I think turning it into foiled letters on the card would be so awesome!
And you already have a laser printer so you won't have that expense! Lucky you! I've seen really cool things made with it. Jennifer McGuire has some neat videos if you haven't already seen them....

CONGRATS on your decision
I love my Minc and think you will be very pleased! Fun to use the positive and negative of the foiling sheets and other techniques - check out YouTube.
And Anna Griffin toner paint and toner pens will be available shortly if your style involves paint and ink WOOHOO! She also has glitter sheets for the Minc.........(yes, another SCS enabler bwahahaha)...........

The Minc mini is a nice option. Used it on an image that was clear heat embossed as did not have a laser printer and it turned out very nice. Do not have one of my own--yet

Another Minc lover here! Its a great machine..
Can I enable everyone? When I was at Hobby Lobby 2 days ago I saw that they were clearancing a whole bunch of the Deco foil brand foils for.....$1.49!
You're welcome..lol
Mmmm I'm still on the fence too but mainly because Our dollar is so low now that purchases have to wait. In Australia our dollar is down to 66 cents to the American dollar. Do love the idea of foiling all and sundry.
At my hobby lobby one week ago - all the mind stuff was on clearance but not great prices. They only had 1 color of deco foil on clearance and it was 3.99

I love my Minc Mini that I was lucky to find at an estate sale for $5. I had to purchase carrier sheets and foil and stuff at regular stores as it didn't come with anything but I can't complain too much. It works really great! I wasn't planning on getting in on the foiling craze but I couldn't pass up that little machine for $5!
I also got lots of Minc paper products at Joann's on clearance and I buy the foils at Michaels or Hobby Lobby with a coupon (or if they are on sale even better).

I really enjoy my 6" Anna Griffin Minc machine, and am waiting for the arrival of my HSN purchase of sheets, Christmas sentiments, and the toner pens. Diane
You guys are awesome! I bought the MINC Mini Bundle and I LOVE it. I mentioned Splitcoast in my blog post so maybe a few more people can find this site. I only have 15 followers lol. I made a youtube video of me using it for the first time and everything came out perfect!
Here's a pic of part of a card I made for my seven year old niece. I'm sure some of you can guess the theme of the party lol.
That was me! Just saw it yesterday for that price. It was the mini, but if you're a CardMaker that's probably all you need. I would need to invest too much for what I'd use it. I don't have a laser printer so I'd need that too.
