You should be able to use your 40% off coupon at Michaels. I did last month. However, I had to argue with the manager of my local store for about 15 minutes in order to use the coupon. He insisted that the Cuttlebug was a "Cricut Product" (which is excluded from the coupon) but it is not. Be prepared to argue, but you may not have to.

This is exactly what the manager of my Mike's said. Since it is made by Cricut (it has their logo on the box, and does say it's a product by Cricut), that I couldn't use the 40% off.
Of course, I had heard some yes stories and some no stories, so I went up to the cashier and asked. She called to the back and that is what the manager said. So, I walked out without buying one. I went to another Mike's that is a bit more "clueless" and didn't ask. I just walked up, (sorry and don't flame me, but I made sure I went to a cashier that had a very young cashier) presented my coupon, paid and walked out.
This was almost a month ago, and I haven't even opened the box. I wish I had time to play with it!
I guess what I'm trying to say is if the first one doesn't take it, try another one and DO NOT ASK!!
I got mine there around Valentine's Day with my 40% coupon and they had tons of them but they keep the actual machine in their back room. They only have the boxes out on the floors of my store.
I bought mine with the coupon just a few weeks ago. My store didn't give me any hassle whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I didn't even have a coupon. I told the cashier I didn't have one with me and she pulled out a clipboard for me to sign. Quick and painless!
I haven't bought the Bug yet, but last time I was in the store, I asked a manager the question and she said, yep, you can use the coupon on the Cuttlebug but not the Cricut. So eventually, I want to get it...someday....
In Topeka, I used my coupon too, no problem, the cashier did ask another lady but they said I could use it. It isn't the same "product"... coupon is good!!!

My Mike's refused me today, so I wrote to corporate to ask. I checked the CB box very carefully and found no reference to Cricut, not even the logo.
So I walked too. Hoping corporate will respond in the affirmative so I can take my email with me before the coupon expires. Next closest store is 60 miles away, can;t exactly drive around hoping someone will take my coupon.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Cricut and the Cuttlebug? I was in my Michael's yesterday (I live in Canada) and they have a paper attached to the Cricut saying that after Aug 17th, they won't accept the 40% off coupon on the Cricut. So I'm thinking that I'd like to find out the difference - I haven't actually seen the Cuttlebug, or I may know by looking at them what the difference is. But I'll use the coupon on the Cricut by the 17th of Aug if I'm going to get one.
I went to my local Michael's last week to buy the Cuttlebug with a 50% coupon from Jo-ann's after hearing other people say that's how they got theirs. I was told Micheal's does not accept any computer generated coupons- they have to be from a flier or mailing. So I walked. Guess I'll just use my rolling pin on the embossing folders I'm collecting!
my M's is the same way . . . no printed out coupons at all. but the J's I go to will take any kind of coupon and depending on the cashier as to how many they will take per person. I am heading there loaded today for J's. *giggle*

The only reason you can't use those coupons is some people are making couterfit coupons...So alot of store have stopped taking them. I had a couple for some Move free for dh and both store I try to use them at would take them!!!
I used a Joann's 50% off coupon last week (from a flier). I was totally prepared to argue that the Cuttlebug is made by Provo Craft, the same company that makes the Cricut. That the Cuttlebug is not made by Cricut. In fact, I was all ready to say "Well, let's just call the Corporate office." I planned on either whipping out my cell phone or having them call on their phone. (It's a toll free number anyhow.) 1-800-642-4235 In other words, unless they were out of stock, I was leaving with a Cuttlebug at 50% off.
Nope, no problem at ALL. In fact, the cashier was SO nice! I had bought an A2 folder and some other CB stuff. She commented that my total bill was about what the Cuttlebug full price would have been!

That manager was wrong. The Cuttlebug is not made by Cricut. They're made by Provo Craft. You shouldn't have any problem using a coupon...that's the only way I've justified getting mine and all of the dies/folders that I own. My LSS has a coupon every week for 40-50% off....I LOVE IT!!! It IS hard to only get one thing at a time though. :-D
I got mine with a 50% coupon at Michael's. The cashier wasn't going to take the coupon but she asked a manager who said, "As long as the coupon doesn't say it's not good for the Cuttlebug...."
