Default Matte Kote Paper Question & Are distress inks considered dye inks??

I purchased a craft video that says I need to use Encore Ink and Matte Kote Paper to achieve the results. Is Matte Kote Paper the same thing as Ranger Specialty Stamping paper or Elizabeth Craft Designs Speciality paper. When I look it up online I get inkjet printer paper or nothing at all-- but other videos about stamping says that is not a good paper to use for stamping because it gets gummy with excessive products and such. Also the technique uses dye inkers like adrirondak ink--- would distress inks work comparably? Thanks in advance for anyone's expertise on this.

Ranger gloss paper should work: Ranger Gloss Paper | Ranger Ink and Innovative Craft Products

or this: Kromekote Cover (Glossy Cardstock) - Marco's Paper

Distress Inks are dye inks.

That's a very specific paper requirement but if you have the others on hand why not try a sample and see how it works?

Paper Temptress do carry Bright White Matte Kote (here) - they describe it as a glossy cardstock with a matt surface for those who want the properties of gloss without the glossy effect. So if you have a glossy cardstock there and the glossy finish won't effect the finished result of whatever you're trying to achieve then that's worth a try, I would think.

As Vics says, Distress ink is indeed dye ink so yo should be fine with that.

Let us know how you get on!

Just slightly puzzled, as you say the craft video says you need Encore ink- that is a Pigment ink, not a dye one. Is that for heat embossing something? The Distress inks will work just as well as the Adirondacks- I often use the two of them together. You should find any of the coated 'stamping' papers will work for you- as Joanne says, give it a try, you never can be sure what the result will be-I think ink is not absorbed so much into the coated papers.
