Love mine! the tool that comes with it is a little flimsy but I've discovered that if i hold it about halfway down it works just fine. something that has helped my keep from jumping out of the groove is to start the score just off the edge of the card stock. I haven't jumped track yet.

I just wanted to follow up with my earlier post about Joan's service. I got my score board TODAY (ordered it Wed. afternoon, she shipped Thurs.) I must say she has amazing service. I post this b/c I know some people might be worried about ordering from someone you don't know. Here is one VERY SATISFIED customer!!! She's very very nice too
Can someone explain to me the benefit of the 1/8" increments? Most of the cards I make on a regular basis don't require an 1/8" score and I guess I just don't understand the hype over the Martha board. Enlighten me! ;)

I do a lot of decorative scoring on my cards and I'll use the 1/8" marks for this.
With my scor-pal I can score at 1/8" increments, but after I make a score line I have to move my card over (try to and line it up with my score) and then continue scoring.
With my MS score board I can score as many lines as I want without moving my card (It's just easier and quicker for me).
Here's an example from my gallery where I use decorative scoring at 1/8" increments:
My sister and I scored the MS board on this past Friday, at Michaels. They only had two left in stock and we bought them with a 40% off coupon. The cashier commented that they were very popular and hard to keep in stock. I've been looking and debating over the score-it but the price just seemed too high. I used the MS board yesterday and I loved how I could make my card look more "finished". Yup...was worth the 12 bucks for sure! It was very easy to use and having the measurements right on the board made for no mistakes on trying to line up the scoring.

The 1/8" increments certainly makes it a handy tool if you are producing those fan folded snowflakes that were popular here at Christmas time. I made about a dozen and sure wished I had had Martha's board then. Would have been a heck of a lot easier!!
Oh my y'all...guess I'll be headed to M's tomorrow...you have all peeked my interested again...I have taken some time off and now there are so many things I WANT! Hope there is one left in San Antonio...

I've been looking at a Scor-Pal but after reading about the MS, I think I'll head out to my M's and see if they have one. With a coupon, it is sure cheaper and sound like it will work for what I want.
he he he I think PP is on sale too .......................
i happened to be at michael's on monday. i scored a score board! last one they had and i had a 40% off coupon. i don't know about other michael's stores, but ours takes competitor's coupons and if you don't have a michael's coupon, you just need to tell the cashier that you forgot yours and they have you sign your name to a list. it's saved me some money when i've left my coupon at home or at work.
Yeah, I got mine at Michaels with a 40% off coupon. It only cost me $12!!!! LOVE IT
Oh, and don't bother calling and asking if they have it. Just go to the store because I called 2 different stores and they said they didn't have it. I went there on a whim and there it was on the shelf. Most of the people that work at Michaels have no clue what they have in the store and they don't know their products very well either.
One store said they had it, so I told them to put it aside for me and I would pick it up. I get there and they had set aside a 12 x 12 Cutting mat! HELLO? That's not the same thing.
I use my board for so much more than cards. If you are making boxes, bags, etc., the 1/2" increments just doesn't cut it! So much better than the scor pal. i have both and I don't even use my scor pal anymore.
Just picked up my MS scoreboard at Michael's in Lethbridge. Went there not expecting that they would have it after reading about how how hard it seemed to find one in a lot of other places. I was able to use a 50% off coupon so paid $15 Canadian for it which I thought was a good price. I am so excited to get home and try it. I hope I like it as much as so many others.
I spent the day today getting to know my MS scoreboard up close and personal. I did go out of the track once....but I was also yelling at the cat to get off the shelf at the same time. I'm not sure if it was the board or the cat's fault...LOL. I have to say it was EASY to use. I used it to score everything today. I also did a lot of paper craft projects. I made every envelope that I could think of using the guide. I was happy with all my results. I agree that the envelope was a bit big, but it was ok. It is a keeper for me!

I already had the Scor-Pal and loved it, but those 1/8 th inch score lines got to me. Using the 40% off coupon, I just counted it as a little treat for myself. I will probably gift my Scor-Pal to a friend. I am keeping my Scor-Pal insert since it fits into the MS score board too. I like the included envelope tool but my first choice for envelopes is the Crafter's Companion envelope board.
I was about to make the score-pal purchase and then somehow stumbled on to info on the MS score board. Went to Michael's last week to purchase with my 40% - they didn't have any. This week was excited when a 50% coupon was emailed to me so headed to Michael's. Still out of stock - a clerk was standing nearby so I asked if they would be getting some in. She scanned the tag on the empty hook where they would go. Result - none in stock and none on order. Since I live in a "big" city, I asked her to search nearby stores. All with the same result. :( How frustrating!! Called my sister who lives in a smaller town - that Michael's had 4. So she scored (no pun intended - LOL) one for me with the 50% off coupon. Now just waiting on a visit so I can get my hands on it.
oh I just went to Mike's today with a 40% coupon and got the ms board. I love it. I was never impressed with the scorpal I think because the grooves were further apart. I love this one.
I also went back in and bought the xyron X create a sticker with another coupon (had to leave and come back in as they won't let you use 2 in a visit.
I ordered mine last Monday from Neat Things Boutique http://neatthings-boutique.com/ and received it Saturday along with a lovely hand-stamped cards from the owner, I highly recommend that store and I LOVE the board so far, I have never been able to do decorative scoring by hand (with a ruler and bone folder) and am getting my fill now!!
I was telling my husband about the scor-pal and how I thought it was a cool idea but I wasn't going to spend good money on something to make lines on paper. "Rulers work just fine" I insisted. Oh the arrogance of a thunderpuppy.
Sigh.
Then I saw the MS one. Well, every single thing about the score pal that I wasn't sure about, was covered in the MS one.
I just bought the dumb thing on eBay. (Around here, we'd have to spend 30 bucks in gas to GET to a Michaels or a Joann and I hadn't seen this thread with the gal here who sells them).
I'm still loving my MS score board! I use my sturdier old bone folder instead of the one that came with it. This product serves its purpose well..no regrets!

I lost my tool--it is somewhere in my stash---but I found a Tupperware orange peeler in my kitchen and it works great!!! LOL I love all the extra lines--when I use my mom's scor-pal that I bought for her I have to move my paper around too much when making boxes and things. For me this is a great tool and I love it.
I have them at my store. It is very nice & easy to use. The coolest thing is the envelope making feature. You can make 1 in less than 5 minutes. I made a box too. I wonder if she has a video on different things to do with it?? It does come with a little instructional booklet.
My Mike's got a restock in of the MS scoreboards, but unlike previous re-stocks where they put the boards out in the regular MS area, they put the new supply of scoreboards out on a special "cart/stand" type of display that unfortunately can be moved around the store. Like my Mike's $1 stamp rolling tiered baskets (that is in a different place every time I walk in the store), you might have to look for the MS scoreboard display stand if your Mike's did what mine did with them. But, my Mike's stand had a bunch of the boards (probably because hardly anyone had found them to purchase!)
To those questioning the slightly larger size of the envelopes, this board is to make envelopes for "dimensional" cards. In other words, for cards that have embellishments that take up more room. It says that right on the envelope template. I like the 1/8 " increments but I still have trouble staying on the line.
I just got my Martha scor board. Does anyone know where I can print out a cheat for the measurements inside where the tool is kept? I have to admit I can't read it very well.
