Making faux rickrack using the corner punch!
Has anyone ever done this before? I was playing around with my corner punch making a scalloped edge and had a thought. I do have them sometimes. I used a 1/4" wide piece of cardstock, punch down one edge to form scallops then flipped it over and punched just a half scallop to begin and continued with full scallops and it looks like rickrack! How cool is that! I'm going to post a picture in my gallery of a card I'm doing for DKOS #16 using it.
Check it out.

Ok I've got it in my gallery. I'll have to try and remember how to post a link, but for now just click on my user name. Thanks for looking.

I wondered if someone had already come up with this. But it was a first for me.

It stands for Different Kind Of Swap. It is a card swap here on Split Coast. We are on winding up #16 and #17 is up now. You sign up to use a certain stamp set and colors. Then you make five of the same and send them to debcst and she swaps them out and you get five different ones back. It's fun to see what ideas other people come up with using the same things as you. Check it out. Go to swaps and type in DKOS #17 and give it a try. Debbie is a great hostess!

Do you have any textured cardstock? I think that might give a fabric look too..
I'll see what I have to get it fabric looking tomorrow.

Wow, Twila!
This is exactly why I love our Different Kind of Swap...the constraints of the recipe sometimes push me to do something entirely new!
Come and check it out, ladies...there's plenty of room in #17, located here:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
...and we'll be starting #18 soon, too.

I agree with you Debbie, it's the best swap for making you have to think outside the box.
