I have just discovered Zip Dry Paper Glue and think it is going to be the answer to all my problems - cost effective because it goes a long way in bulk card making (and because my HL carries it!), easy to use for my card group at church, AND it sticks even with large amounts of handling at our card sales booth.
But...even though I try to let the glue drain out of the tip before I put the top on - I still have a massively clogged tip. For SU glues - like SU Crystal Effects - I just stick a pin in the tip, move it around, and it is unclogged. The Zip Dry glue is too dense and sticky for this.
What other tricks are there for getting the glue clog out - or better yet - for avoiding the clogged tip all together?
I love Zip Dry glue also. I don't drain it, I just pick the end of the applicator & pull out the small dried plug. It is a pain but I find the benefits outweigh the aggravation.
Any tricks to pulling it out? I find it very sticky - I've tried sticking pins in and paper piercers. Of course, I have been letting mine drain so maybe I'm just getting a coating of glue.
I had a similar-ish problem with my liquid glass (like Crystal Effects, but by another manufacturer) and started cleaning out the tip before I put the cap back on, rather than each time I took the cap off. I read about it on SCS; I keep an unbent paper clip on my table for the purpose.
Thanks for all the help! I think I might try to be disciplined and clean it out after I use it.
It sounds like others have glue collecting outside the applicator tip and can pull it off just by grabbing the glue on top of the tip and the glue comes out of the inside too. I just seem to get a lot of glue gumming up the inside of the applicator - none outside so there is nothing to grab on to.
