I have to thank Jami for originally posting the thread about ink storage and all the ladies who posted their experiences and different websites. It was so helpful and made me finally decide what I wanted to do.
And thank you for the customer testimonials. You could be the company's infomercial spokes model! Just based on your thread and all your great info I just bought a bunch myself.

Whew!! You were right! The shipping is steep! But even at $14.00 it is still 1/2 the regular price. These will make a terrific B'day for the great friend that got me stampin'.

Can I be your stampin friend?

and when I got the big box I fully understood why shipping was so high - that box is heavy....
A few things...the drawers on the bottom will hold pens and will also hold the spectrum pads...
they come with 3 divided drawers - I kept 1 divided drawer for each of my units and used pliers to break out the dividers in the rest of them...now I have little plastic containers to hold my small punches, dazzling diamonds and so on and so forth - you can put eyelets, brads and buttons but I envison having it sitting on my table and then knocking it over if I did that...
Since I am soon to become a demo (just waiting for my number and starter kit now) I figured I could use one to load up the inks and supplies I need if I am doing a SU party and then everything is all together - since I won't be hauling every ink pad I own to a party and such...
So worth the money...

Emily!!!! I am so excited that you got yours and love them!!! I am loving mine too (even though I'm only using 2 right now). Hey would you also post a pic on the other thread too so all the gals over there don't miss it?
Anyone researching ink storage can check out this thread Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Tons of input there on different options. This dyzntec seems to be the very most popular - they are just soooo pretty! All the dimensions are posted there too.
For those who already have the SU caddy I think using 2 or more of these in addition to that caddy is a great option for overflow pads. Also if you break the dividers out of one of the drawers on the right it will hold 12 spots! And while I plan to keep my markers in their case, I did remove the retired colors and put them in the bottom drawer of one of these. There are just so many possibilities!
How exciting!!!!! My SU order is coming Monday too - can hardly wait!
I attempted to place an order but the shipping charge scared me away (maybe temporarily). My shipping to Michigan was over $50! Can somebody explain to me their thoughts on why the shipping would be so much? I'm not a cheapskate or anything, I just question it when the shipping is like 40% of the product! And people complain about SU 10% shipping!
The turntable is square and 4 cases fit on it perfectly. Someone on the other thread posted the exact dimensions. I didn't get the turntable so I don't have the info handy. I believe you need something like 22 inches for the full turning radius (someone correct me on that). It was just too big for the space I had, but it's gorgeous if you have the room. I set up 4 like that just to check it out when I got mine. If you read all the way through the other thread all of the exact info is there.

Also - if you look at the regualar price of the units - $30 - the % is quite a bit lower. If you spread the shipping out on a per unit basis I think they are still a really good deal. Check the prices of any other units (including shipping) - wood, acrylic, SU, PortaInk - that hold 48 or more pads. I think once you compare you'll get over the sticker shock of shipping.
Congrats Emily,,,,,,,,
I got mine about a month ago and I absolutely love them. I didnt get the turntable but have two setting back to back on a rubbermaid lazy susan and they work just fine. I have five units, my sis brought the other five and it ended up costing each of us about $68 each. I didnt think that was bad at all. Not to knock SU at all cause I love their stuff but theirs would have cost that much with shipping and tax and not held everything and the new stuff coming out.
I think the thing I like best is that they are clear and you can see what you have and it is easy to put stuff back. Because they are clear, they dont seem so heavy and look like they take up so much space. I did put a bunch of different brads in one of the trays but it is difficult to get them out. Fingers dont fit so well, but it does work for the inkers and the sponges. I like the little drawer too for pens. The doors are no problem either, and I have retrained myself to using them rather quickly. The old pads even fit fine. This is so much better than the plastic shoe boxes or the photo box on its side..

Ok, you sold me on these too! I just bought 4 of them for the current colors and will use the acrylic shelf for the other stamp pads that I have. I love the idea of the reinkers right there with the pads. I hope they have enough to fill all of our orders. Thanks for all of your information and sharing!

Just not enough time in the day to do everything that I love to do
I just e-mailed and confirmed with them that the sale is only on until September 1st. She said they are a small company and quite busy right now and they know it's because of all of us here at SCS!
Wow, Emily - they look GREAT! Too bad I can't get them to ship here to Hawaii...but they only ship to the continental US, must be too heavy...
Oh well! I'll just continue the search for the right ink storage for me...
Us Canadians would like Ink storage too! I like the fact that they are clear - you can see the colors better, and wont look to "full" on the counter or wall.
Hmm.. if I shipped them to a US post service across the border, it will end up costing even more.
If you pull up on the top front corner, the door pops right out. I am taking the doors off several of mine for easier use. If I was going to take ink somewhere I'd probably use my old caselogic zipper bag because it's so durable and I won't be worried about it breaking in any wya. I'll take a new pic when I get them all done. I also took the dividers out of one drawer per unit. I put beads in one, a date stamp in one, etc...stuff that mamak and I each use.
Oh my gosh!!! I just called my upline, Stampinsteph and made her get online to look at this. I ordered it right then and there. We are splitting the 10 for $90. I am so excited. Its the little things in life that do it for me. ;)
Thank you so much for sharing.
So when do you get your royalties? LOL

How hilarious!!! They may hate me for making them so busy today!!! Seriously though, I am thrilled with what I got. It's exactly what I wanted for my space!
Can anyone add any information to the fact that if you heat the handle you can remove it so you are able to stack these?? The only way this system would work for me is if I could stack them. Thanks for any help!!!
OMG! I love it! I am going to order me some, but can't decide how many. I don't need 10, I only want 5, so if anyone wants to go in with me and is willing to pay for the extra shipping to send them to you if you don't live in the DFW area then send me an email or PM. I am leaving today to go to Paris France for 5 weeks, but will order them and they will be there when I get home. Anyone know how long the sale is for? I do have internet access while I'm gone, but won't be able to check it until Saturday.
I have someone who is going in with me on these! YAY! She lives close, so I can just deliver them instead of mailing them! Can't wait to order them, get home and put them together!

Be VERY careful popping the doors off. If you pull to hard, you'll either crack the door or you'll pop the top of the unit off. I popped the top off one of mine. I am attempting to reassemble it with crystal effects. If it doesn't work, I'll put it against the wall and use it over there cause I won't care if it has a top anyway. Just a tip!
OK, I put crystal effects along the edging and put the top back on the one I broke off. I then stacked some of my punches (since they are kinda heavy) on top. When I checked it this morning, I could pick it up by the handle again and it held so it is probably ok. I don't plan to carry them anywhere anyway, so it's good enough for me!
Thanks to Jenn Balcer who sent me over here to check out the pics! I just posted a question about the product I had seen on elsewhere and she responded right away. So guess what!?! I ordered 10 and yes, I gasped and paused to regroup when I saw the shipping but then.....it's about $5/unit when you break it down and no tax so.....I did it! I've been trying to figure out stamp pad/accessory storage for several months now and this is it! My shelves are full of wicker baskets and other cute storage methods, but the ink pads in particular have been driving me wonky!
I see everyone's view on the SU caddy vs. other brands....but here's what sold me....1. the "flat" back - the caddy takes up so much space on my relatively small amount available; 2. like so many have said, 48 slots and that's it (well, with the new colors, discontinued colors I will still use, craft pads, versa...etc....I'd need 2 or 3 caddy's....); 3. the DRAWER AT THE BOTTOM...yes, I'm shouting! I love that option!; 4. the space for re-inkers and the other little compartments.
I love that I can store everything for one color group in one place. Thanks for the pics, thanks Jenn for such quick response. Don't tell my husband!

Alright... I think I'm getting sucked in! I too am a nut for the drawers! I've been trying to talk my hubby into making me a nice wood one for some time, but he isn't getting the lead out... I may just have to superceed him!
I'm thinking I'll contact my customers and area demos to see if anyone wants to split the 10-pack... anyone near Kalamazoo in need of a few of these???

After 11 years as a demo, guess I'm not so"new" anymore!
If you like the look of acrylic storage, but don't want/need the drawers, check out www.stampnstore.com . That's whay I purchased a year or so ago. I didn't like the look of the big wood storage units and was happy to find clear acrylic!
EMILY, these look so great. I almost bought the $40, but the shipping to Houston was outlandish.
BTW. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! So what won out today - playing with your new stamps that were supposed to arrive today or going out and spending time with DH?

I just ordered 10, my SU demo and I are splitting it. We can't wait to get them. Hopefully it won't take a month to recieve them. We might order again before the end of Aug.
Thanks for showing us how cool these storage units are. Your pics were better than those on the company's website. I just ordered 10 - now I have to figure out what I'm actually going to do with all of them!

What's to figure, you buy stuff to put in them. LOL

You ladies are bad for my budget! I have been trying to figure out the best way to deal with new colors/reinkers + old colors/reinkers + neutrals. This is it. Now to see if any of my stampers want to "buy" the excess (LOL). I'll probably keep them for expansion.

Before I ever saw the posts here on SCS, I saw an Ebay auction for this same item, which is what got me hooked. I decided, based on the absolutely fantasic photo she has on the auction (fully loaded with markers in the drawer, eyelets, daubers etc. in the drawers, re-inkers and pads) that this is what I wanted to store my things. I figured that, unless she was making them herself, someone "out there" had to be offering them at a better deal. I spent 2 wasted hours trying to find them. Finally, I got on SCS - silly me for not doing so before I spent all that time! Anyway, all this just to say for a really great photo, check out the Ebay auction, sorry I don't know how to post links like so many of you do, but if you type in "acrylic stamp pad storage" the auction will come up. I don't recommend purchasing from there, because you'll pay more, but the photo is good, if you're debating on the item. By they way, I ordered 10 from the manufacturer! No doubt, I'll fill them all up, between Classic, Craft, miscellaneous, and retired colors... And I'm keeping one out to fill up with items to tote around to a workshop. It will fit nicely into my Crop-in-Style I take out.

Here's mine - the first 2 at least. I broke out the dividers of one drawer and a set of spots fits perfectly. Right now my 2nd one has Spectrum pads and Stazon. Just got my whole new set of RR Classic pads. So pretty!
