I've been able to get the three pack daubers in Hobby Lobby 1/2 price when they run their pads 1/2 off. I think at the time that made it (3) for $1.50.
I felt like that was a pretty good price, but someone else may know of a better deal.
When my Dad was battling pancreatic cancer 2 years ago, he decided he liked what I was doing by making my own cards. I got him hooked and he took off in his own direction. His main love was wood carving, but since he couldn't hold anything steady once on chemo-let alone a wood carving knife-he liked the fact he could still create and since so many people were visiting and coming over, he was making his own thank you cards!
So, about three months ago, (my Dad passed away 05/31/06), my Mom calls up and asks if I wanted all of Dad's paper crafting stuff. Well-DUH! After unpacking it all and putting it in a home, what do I come across? MAKEUP SPONGES!!! He borrowed a couple of my Mom's makeup sponges and used them to sponge stuff on the cards he made!!
Granted, these aren't SU! sponges or daubers, but they WORK! And, at about $2.99 a pack, it sure will fill the need when in a pinch!!! ;) ;)
If you really want the finger daubers, the best price for quantity I found is the Stampin' Up ones. You get more in the package and per piece they come out cheaper than the places that sell only 3 in a package.
BUT....for an even better deal, use the white make-up sponges from K-Mart, WalMart, etc. They are in a package semi attached in triangle shapes. Just cut them to suit the size that works best for you. I find they are easier to clean than the daubers and last much longer without falling apart. Yes, I do wash out my sponges and re-use them.
DARN...I would have actually bought that dauber holder! I looked and looked before I found one at JoAnns that would fit the daubers but it is actually just a little box and I put two daubers per compartment but this one you "linked" was perfect!

Cheapest make-up sponges are at the dollar store...a huge bag of the triangular shaped sponges is $2.00.
Another good sponge is the sheet used by model builders (it's used as insulation around motors). Can't remember how much it cost, but it was reasonable.
As far as finger dabbers...Darice has three in a package for $1.00. I've found them in Office Max (who knows why!).
