Talking I'm excited... My Mike's still had some "dew drops" :)

I know there was other talk on here about these babies, but I just wanted to post a picture of the simulated dew drops from Michaels. For the price you just CAN'T beat it! I used a 50% off coupon for the containers to store them in.

TFL..

I have all those same colors. But, sigh, yours look so pretty in the little bottles. Mine are in zip lock bags.

I got all the colors a few months ago you showed besides the orange and light purple which they did not have. I did, however, get 2 or 3 packs of the clear so I could custom color with my copics. And after I saw your post I went to our local M's (only a couple months old and smaller than other ones that I've been to) and I couldn't find dew drops there AT ALL. :(

Yeah I bought a couple bags of the clear ones to try and color them to possibly the new 'in colors' by Stampin up ... I read on here people have done it with reinkers and alcohol. So hopefully it will work!

I found it by the clearance section however others said they found it in the floral section. So I guess it just depends on the store. Have you tried looking at your store for them?

I just bought the blues and pinks at the Michael's in Northern Virginia, they were hanging on an end cap marked clearance in the floral department. Wish I could have gotten some other colors, however, there are at least three shades in each of these bags. Now when I get back home to Spokane, I'll have to see about the little bottles to seperate and put them in.

Thanks everyone... I love my containers too. I was in another Michaels here in town a week or so ago and they didnt have any. But then went to another one and they have about 15 packs or so. So definately check out all your Michaels!

I also tried last night coloring the clear ones with alcohol inks. It works great! You just get a little baggie out some drops of ink in there and squish it all around. Then lay them to dry on wax paper. At first you will think..ughh they didnt come out right but when they dry they look great!

Oh also another tip I read on another post if you have a 1/4" circle punch (i used mine from Stampin Up, not hand held makes it easier) You just punch out any color of cardstock and mount it underneath the clear dew drops and that color shows through! Many uses for these things.

I see they are colored but are they balls? Are they flat on one side? I have no clue what they are.

I have never seen Dew Drops in the stores, but have seen them on
cards decorated in the gallery, and they look really nice.

Are the Dew drops you are finding at Michael's glass? And, are the
"real" dew drops glass also or made of another material?

I am going to Hobby Lobby and Michaels tomorrow and would
like to purchase the right type, so any info. would help.

Thanks

Here is a search in the gallery I did for "dew drops". There are quite a few ideas!

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

It looks like most people use them instead of brads.

The faux drops from Michaels are bigger than the "dew drops".

The "dew drops" we are finding at Michaels are just a little bit bigger than what they sell online. To me the difference isnt much for the huge difference in price. Some people that have tried the real dew drops prefer the real ones since thats what they started with. Me, I have a few real ones but mostly ones from Michaels.

Yes the ones at Michaels are flat on one side and made from the same material as the real ones. They are just a tad bigger which I like because then I can use my 1/4"punch and put and color cardstock underneath to show through
